1. Polish ancesters... [1]
I think you might have been directing the question on when Poland was part of the German empire to me, but I didn't get my e-mail checked right away and John Newman gave you some good advice...Poland has a tortured History and it has been 20 years since I researched the Polish branch of my family but there are lots of good sources and every part of Poland is a History in itself as it has been divided up by it neighbors many times and you need to know where they lived in Poland and the year and then check th
2. RE:Little York, West Portal NJ MYERS [1]
Hi Gary, Little York is in present day Hunterdon, Asbury is now in Warren County. Just checked Jan's site for you, and got 49 documents on her search engine for Myers. Some are in Hunterdon (she has a lot of Hunterdon info), but the majority that I peeked at are in the southwestern part of Warren, ie.Phillipsburg, Asbury areas (once part of Hunterdon). Check her Beer's Atlas of Warren County 1876. The maps are scanned to the site (there's a surname index), and there are a number of Myers in it. Lots

5. Re: [NJHUNTER] Yawger [1]
I also have an Albert Yawger, whose son Charles H. Yawger married Kathryn E. Roche (1912-1992) in 1931 in Somerville. This couple was divorced and Kathryn E. Roche married (2) Edwin Z. Siegfried in 1937. All three lived in or near Whitehouse Station in Readington Twp. This Charles H. Yawger might be a grandson of the Charles H. Yawger you have as father of Albert. Kathryn Roche had no children with either husband. Pam ----- Original Message ----- From: "fish fisher" To:

Hello Judy & list; The only current genealogist that I know has done any first-hand research into the family of Thomas & Martha (Dunn) Runyan is Hazel Sheehan of Reading, PA. Hi. My ggg and gggrandfather's were named Joseph Thomas. I know that my gggrandfather Joseph and his wife, Mary Catherine(Lomerson), lived in Lebanon, Hunterdon Co. His father, I believe, was married to either Sarah or Rebecca Pence(my notes aren't handy). Unless, there is other information available, I don't know how this would help you. I just returned from N.J. and bought a couple of booklets while there. Some info about Bryan family of Port Murray/Mt Bethel area in one of them. My Thomas a
19. Re: [NJHUNTER] EBAY AUCTIONS [1]
Hi all, I know that most mail lists have a policy about sellers advertising their auctions, but I find it really helpful when another list member spots an auction relevant to our common interests and points it out. I frequently point out auctions on the "Latta List." We have about 50 branches of our tree (that we know of), and almost all branches have a representative on the list. A recent example: There was an eBay auction for a Purple Heart that had belonged to an "Alexander Latta." So I poste

Also, as for surname alternative spellings... if the surname ends with "-ski" you should realize that the proper ending for a female is "-ska" and this seems to be done on the Ellis Island database on an irregular basis - going back and forth from "-ski" and "-ska". Also, Alice's recent post reminded me of a techique I used to narrow down my search. probably in the later 1890s and then throughout, the ship manifest often asked what town the passenger had lived in. Since some of the surnames I was researc

Sorry I have nothing on Alice YAWGER. I do have a Albert S YAWGER, but all I have on him is born 9/4/1880 in Stanton, Hunterdon, NJ and died 9/10/1962 buried in Newell Cemetery in Stanton.
