Hi D. Bowers,
It depends on where you live. You can get the 1851 Cornell Map of Hunterdon
County at the Red Mill Museum in Clinton.
I don't know how you can get it online however. The full name is:
Map of Hunterdon County New Jersey Entirely from Original Surveys by Samuel
C. Cornell [Publishers Name is in fancy Script and hard to read, but last
name is Cornell] 1851.
There is another set of Maps in the late 1800s but I don't have them.
Perhaps someone else can get that info for you.
There is also the H
I have been researching the HENDERSON families of Hunterdon Co, NJ for
several years. Unfortunately I have hit a brick wall. A Edward Henderson
1735-1819 lived in Bethlehem Tp, Hunterdon Co from at least 1773 until his
death there in 1819. I am unable to determine: (1) who his parents were or
where he was born (2) Exactly where he lived in Bethlehem Tp or where he is
buried (3) What the surnames of his two wives (Susannah & Rachel) were or
where they are buried. ,and what his relationship to a John Hende
Hi Millie,
You're on the right track, those are your STAMETS! Here's how I know.
You mentioned in previous correspondence that two of the STAMETS girls
married GROFF boys. The girls appearing in the 1900 census entry are
Emma and Lulu. An online search of the "Morning Call Newspaper" of
Allentown, PA, revealed the following obituaries:
1) 1998 - Edward W. Groff of Phillipsburg, son of Harry and Emma
Stamets Groff
2) 1999 - Edward H. Groff Jr. of Palmer Township, son of Edgar Sr.
and Lulu Stamets Gro
There is also the Beers map of Hunterdon County published in 1873. Again
not online, however, I believe the Hunterdon County Historical Society sells
them.

As soon as I saw your query re John McNulty, I knew there was
something familiar about that name. I have not yet been able to find
that name anywhere in my genealogical notes, and I do not think the
McNultys are relatives. I keep having the nagging feeling that I have
heard my grandfather (who was born in Lambertville in 1890) mention
that name.
Nonetheless, I have been looking through papers and photos and I did
find mention of a couple of McNultys on Lambertville, although they
don't seem to
Hello Brenda and others with an interest in the old Maps of Hunterdon,
I am not connected with the Maps other than that I purchased a copy of the
1851 Cornell Map from someone who had visited the Museum in Clinton.
I'll try to find out the correct address and other information from the
Hunterdon County Historical Society which I will visit this afternoon and
let you know if they are available and how to order.
Regards, Bill

Kimberly,
William Disher was located in Amwell Township, Hunterdon County,
1778-1780 according to the "Revolutionary Census of New Jersey - an index,
based on rateables, of the inhabitants of NJ during the period of the
Amercian Revolution." compiled by Kenn Stryker-Rodda, 1972. There is
nothing else other than the name, place and date. But it is a good clue. I
think Amwell Twp was what is now East and West Amwell Townships now, give or
take a few boundary changes, but this could be incorrect.

In early literature there is mention of Jurgh Philip WUHLHAUER /
PHILHOWER, who married Anna Marie _unknown_.
I suspect that this couple are the same as: Philip PHILHOWER and Mary
HARTRUM / HOTRUM, who married about 1752 in Rockaway, Hunterdon
county, NJ.
Is anyone here researching these individuals and can anyone confirm
or disprove this?
Cheers, -- Dave

Al, Thanks for sharing this article. Many times my husband and I drove over
that bridge when we worked for Hund. Central HS. I remember the Johnson
children riding our buses. What a generous contribution by the Johnson's
