9. [NJHUNTER] John Conrad HAWS, c.1770's, NJ & MD [1]
Looking for information on John Conrad HAWS and John HAWS Jr., who are listed as "Next of Kin" on the Inventory of Isaac WOLVERTON, "late of Frederick County", dated 12 Aug 1778, in Frederick Co., MD (Administratrix: Cathrine WOLVERTON). Since the inventory includes shoemaker's equipment, I assume that he was Isaac-3 WOLVERTON (Roger-2, Charles-1) from Hunterdon Co., NJ, who for some unknown reason moved to MD, probably after 1776. The HAWS family could be connected either through Cathrine (assumed to be

24. [NJHUNTER] Hunterdon County Directories [1]
Dear Anita- Re: your question about Hunterdon County directories. I know that I've used one for the towns of Lambertville and Frenchtown for 1899 at the Hunterdon County Historical Society. If you just have one surname to check, you might write to them (with sase, etc - the whole drill) and request a lookup. Come to think of it, there are a number of Warren County directories so there may be other years for Hunterdon County. Does anyone on this list know? Marilyn ________________________________________
