Today's Princeton Packet newspaper had an article by Susan Van Dongen in
the magazine section regarding "The Old Ways". I'll include excerpts,
directly quoting Ms. Van Dongen.

Good evening anyone! I am looking for information about Cornelius Hoppock
and/or Catharine Corle. They were the parents of my Mary Hoppock who
married Samuel Barber in 1800. Thank you, ginny knutsen (se Idaho)
It seems New Jersey has no laws governing cemetery preservation.
If they do nobody is watching. I visited a New Brunswick cemetery
this past summer and found several gravestones had been bulldozed
into an overgrown corner of the graveyard. The winos had made tables
out of them.
I had high hopes as I learned several STALEE / NEVIUS / SILLCOCKS
relatives were there. I didn't find a single stone and imagine them to be
buried in the rubble. As for the law, this cemetery is directly across
the street
Al,
You wrote of a 1873 Beers Atlas of Hunterdon County. Do you know if there is
an Atlas for any other years? If so, where could I access one.
Thanks,

Hi Beverly and Everyone,
I noticed your list of small family cemeteries included the Ruple/Rupel
Cemetery on Route 625, Alexandria Twp. Could someone in the area please post
the list of those interred there. My line is Adam and Katharine Geist
Ruppel, d. 1904 and 1918, John and Sarah Runyon Ruple, d. 1916 and 1945.
Other children of Adam and Katharine were George, d. 1896,

Thanks for any help.

Hello,
Is there anyone on the list who lives in Flemington, NJ?
My 7th great grandfather Johann Philip Kaes is buried in
Case Cemetery on 56-60 Bonnell Street. I would like
photo and/or video of this cemetery and his grave which
is described as a simple fieldstone with an inscription:
'JPK 1756'. If there is anyone in Flemington who would
be willing to do this for me, I will, of course, cover all
expenses including lunch at your favorite Flemington cafe.

Hi! I'm looking for information about one Alfred K. Chamberlin. Alfred was married once - perhaps twice. The records of his kids located in Henry Co., IN, list the wife as Mary with the last name of either Byrd, Apgar or Alger/Alker. In 1865, they had John V. Chamberlin, followed by Lydia and Elizabeth. Later, in 1876, they had George Alvey Chamberlin. The "V." of John's middle name is for either Vincent or Vancliff/Vancleave. George's son, George, is still living in Richmond, IN and recalls that our
Hi All!
I'm wondering if someone would have access to the 1920 Index to Federal Census for NJ, Mercer County?
If so, I'm looking for a married couple named CONNER. I believe they would have lived in Hopewell boro.
I do not even know what their first names were (this information was given to me by my Dad and he can't seem to recall their first names, only that they had kept the family history for our CONNER line).
I believe they would have been 45-55 years of age at the time of the 1920 census.

Is anyone working on the BUTLER family of Hunterdon County?
I've traced my impossible SMITH family back to a possible BUTLER
connection:
Nathan D. SMITH's death certificate (1914, b. 1835) names his father as:
Joseph P. SMITH
and the marriage licence for his second marriage (1891) names his father
as Joseph P. SMITH and his mother as Susan.
Ancestry.com has NJ Marriage abstracts which show this:
Joseph SMITH Sex: M Marriage(s): Spouse: Susan BUTLER Marriage:
20 Sep 1823
