The Baptist Church Cemetery in Wertsville was sold along with the church to
a private individual. According to the East Amwell Preservation Committee
person I spoke with, I forget her name, the buyers offered the cemetery to
the Baptist Church organization for $1 but the Baptist Church didn't want it
so it went along with the rest of the parcel. The new owners converted the
church to a private home and added an addition to the structure next the to
driveway.
In all fairness
For those of you looking for Hills, there are some in the
Wertsville Baptist Cemetery (which is now privately owned).

The overseer of public cemeteries in NJ is the NJ Attorney General. However,
if the cemetery has been sold along with the parcel to a private
individual/corporation, then it belongs totally to the owner of the
property.

My Revolutionary ancestor, Joseph OSBORN, was living in Bethlehem Township in Hunterdon County 1778-1789. Can anyone tell me where this township is in the county, or which town or towns might be in it?
Thank you.

While we are on the subject. Does anybody have any information on Paul Dilts who married Elizabeth Hill on Dec. 14, 1815?
Any info would be appreciated on this family.

Anyone with information on Dr. Cicero Hunt listed as head-of-household on the 1855 E. Amwell Census?
The tragedy of the past week will live for ever in the hearts and minds

Hi Richard and Mary,
I had something similar in regards to a cemetery on a piece of land near me
developed by a mega-mansion developer last year. If the cemetery is
unincorporated (ie: private burial ground for family and/or friends on
farmland) the builder owns the land and can do just about what he wants with
it unfortunately. If it was a cemetery where people purchased plots, then
the descendents own the plots and he would have to make an active search for
them to get permission to remove the remains.
Hi all,
I have visited Amwell Ridge Cemetery again. Yes, Bill you are correct it is

I decided to be systematic instead of roaming around looking for graves.
Part of this reasoning was I tried to find Tunis Kaes again for Mary and
wasted time without luck. My memory is not what it use to be. :) So Brenda,

I have just updated my web page to include transcriptions of the

I have both volumes of Genealogies of New Jersey Families and would be
happy to do look up. Sometimes it mentions Rutgers and lists the name of
the the person and when the records were received by them. That might help.

Searching for any information on Maxwell D. CONOVER, b. 1836, the illegitimate son of Elizabeth DALRYMPLE and John CONOVER of Amwell Twp. (Elizabeth was the daughter of George DALRYMPLE and Anna MAXWELL.) In the 1850 Kingwood Twp census, Maxwell was enumerated in the household of Samuel ROBERSON and wife Sarah Ann (KING). Can find no marriage record for Elizabeth DALRYMPLE and John CONOVER, and no trace of their son Maxwell after 1850. Does anyone know what happened to any of these people????

Dear Listers,
This is a copy of a message that I sent to Mike this morning. It was
intended for the whole list to read, but I pressed the wrong button somewhere.
You know the old saw: I don't agree with what you say, but I will
defend to the death your right to say it. Well this is one of those times.
However, as I tried to say to Mike, we can disagree with each other
without resulting to hatefulness and name calling.
Back to genealogy people.

Hi- I am trying to find another William Williamson who can't be that of RRW
because his death date is different, but I thought I'd put mine out there to
see if anyone can help me with him.
My William Williamson of the Raritan River of Middlesex Co had a bond to
marry 24 Aug 1741 Styntje(Christina) Jansen . It was Styntje's second
marriage; her first marriage was to Adriaen Langstraet, son of Dirck
Stoffelsz and Catharine (Van Leeuwen) Langstraet of Flatlands, Long Island.
William Williamson died
Whatever happened to the geanealogical computer searching practice of using caps for surnames? I find it of enormous benefit to be able to scan down a message to see if I know that name, without having to read the message line by line. I'd also like to see surnames in caps all the time, not to mention using Capital letters to start a sentence. When somebody enters a search request without caps in the right places, I just delete it. Life is to short to go hunt-and-peck through all those message boards.

Mr. Ledo,
I do not consider myself a hippocrite. I wholly embrace the open
discussion and diversity of political and public opinion in
appropriate forums, and a genealogical mailing list is not one of
them. Why is this concept so difficult for an erudite man such as Mr.
Ledo to understand, without falling to his rights to free speech and
delusions of persecution?
Yes, Mr. Ledo, you are entitled to free speech! No one is stopping
you from writing a letter to the editor of your favorite newspaper, or
