Anyone know what information would be found on a marriage certificate in Hunterdon County in 1847 , i.e. would the names of the parents of the bride and groom be listed?
Hi- I think this is the Jacob Dacker/Decker from Amwell twp, Hunterdon Co
named in Andries Decker's will.(husband of Dvierje Maule) This is the only
Jacob Decker I could find in any Hunterdon Co records; the only other Decker in
Hunterdon Co records was John Decker (wife, Sarah DeMott) who was also mentioned
in Andries' will. There were no records in Hunterdon Co for another brother,
Peter Decker, Hunterdon Co, also mentioned in Andries' will, but there was a

I recognize the name Brocaw and Johnson........There was a Bourgeon Brocaw
who had a daughter Mary that married Andrew Bird. From this marriage I have
notes in the schematic below two son(more children though).....I find Brocaw
and Johnson families in near Douglasville, PA.
Check out these families for families that lived in VA/WV.:
BIRD - RUDDELL - WILSON - SLAVENS - INSKEEP - SADOWSKI - JONES - CAIN - VAUSE
- POWNALL - PETERS - SCOTHORN - GUTHRIE:

Would anyone happen to know where the old Rockafeller homestead would be?
I'm not that familiar with Hunter.Co. but I've been told it's across the
street from a cemetery where quite a few Rockafellers are buried, and
possibly a church, in Milford. I would like to visit on my next trip to NJ.
Thanks, Sharon
The Hunterdon County GenWeb site has a listing of cemeteries in Hunterdon County. This listing is
an attempt to list all the cemeteries and the information has been obtained from many different
sources. I have just reorganized this page and updated it with additional information. The site is
at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~njhunter/Cemetery.htm
Where the data is available, the listing for each cemetery includes:
- The name of cemetery
- Any alternate or other name for the cemetery

Wilson married my gggrdmother Julia Ann Cole in 1854. Had children Sarah E., Elial (my ggdfather). Also living with them were Daniel and William. Maybe Mary died?
1880 census shows other children of Wilson and Julia Ann as Hellen, Lemuel, Asher and Margaret.

Just this morning, I was wondering what is the largest cemetery in
Hunterdon County? For now, the cemetery at Capner Street in
Flemington (owned by St. Magdalen's Church) gets my vote at 38 acres.
Are there any larger?
Please let me know. Thanks,

Hello Fellow Listers,
I am searching for a SLACK, possibly Henry or Noah
Slack, who leased and ran a ferry at Washington
Crossing sometime between 1790 and 1860. I think it
was Henry Slack because he lived in Amwell Township,
Hunterdon County, and his wife, Rachel (KITCHEN)
SLACK, lived in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. There is a
family story about them meeting on a ferry.
Any info on this SLACK or tips where or how to
research would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks sooooooo much in advance,
Carl

I read with sadness in today's Hunterdon County Democrat of the
passing of Joyce Leaver Carraway. She was a fellow list member here.
I frequently corresponded with her regarding genealogy and local
history via email. Joyce is related to the well-known Dr. Morris

Joyce was kind enough to help me with my Hunterdon County website by
providing me with the listing of plot owners / interments of the
