1. RE: Tunis Cole - died 1851 [1]
Carol, The Tunis Cole you mention was the second husband of my ancestor Nancy Hamler Bird Cole (c1790-1874). She was first married to an Andrew Bird who according to family legend, died in a fall from a barn he was helping to build. Nancy was also apparently Tunis' second wife although I don't know the name of his first wife. Nancy and Tunis are buried at the old Methodist church cemetery in Bernardsville which was one of the cemeteries I visited during a trip to NJ last week. Its also curious that you

Marty, Must warn you that the Holcombe-Jimeson Farm is only open from 1-4 on Sundays. It is closed the rest of the time. The house is closed for renovations, all you can see is the agricultural exhibit. It's interesting if you want to know about a farmer's way of life in olden times. I you haven't left, please email me privately & I can tell you some things you might be interested to know. We come from John

He came from Hunterdon County to Bucks County where he married Sarah Morgan and then stayed there around Upper Makefield. His father was said to be a William Davis who was reported to be deceased sometime before his marriage. Who was his mother? siblings? Perhaps he was born in Bucks Co, moved to NJ and then came back to Bucks. There are many William Davises in Bucks but none seem to fit and I can find no

Are you looking for Everitts in the Ringoes area? I have some cousins who are still there living in the Higgins farm, which has been in their families for many generations. Most of the families in the area are EverEtts (with the E) but our family has the I. Diane, I have a list of the Marriage Records of Hunterdon County for 1795-1875. There is no William DAVIS listed. So perhaps he married before 1795. That's not much help, but it may narrow down your search a little bit. Best, Ana Ryan

On the Jersey side ; I checked when the D&R canal completed and it was 1834. http://www.dandrcanal.com/history.html Pennsylvania : The Delaware Canal is the only remaining continuously intact canal of the great towpath canal building era of the early and mid-19th century. Does anyone know if there are PRALLs in this graveyard? I would be interested in this, since it is our direct line, down to our great grandmother, who married a WEIDNER/WIDNER.
