Would anyone out there have any info on the family of Cornelius? I know he had one son, Cornelius Jr. These are the children I am looking for.
Anything one can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Jean

county. But when I read the answers to my question I think I subscribe to
the wrong county. Now I look at Rootsweb and see the ar
I had an interesting day yesterday. I located my Ggrandfather's grave in
Farmingdale at the cemetery. His name was Edmund Lewis Hall b Dec 6, 1849 ;
d May 15th, 1908. Wife Mary A Hall (Stillwell) b. March 5, 1883 d May 30,
1891.
on the back of monument was Grace Hofmann, b May 6, 1890 d. July 16, 1890.
Behind the plot was a monument Bills/Lewis. I'm wondering if the Lewis
has
any connection to Edmund Lewis.
In addition Mary Anna Stillwell's parents Elisha and Mary Kennard is buried
in the same area.

Could anyone tell me what the Vespers were or are? I am tracing a Naomi Moore and in her diary she speaks of going to a Vespers meeting after school. I was wondering if it was a religious group of some sort? I would appreciate any help.
Thanks Bonnie.
Hi
In the 1900 census is mentioned Isaac Spriet born Feb 1869 Russia. His wife
Esther born 26.04.1874 Russia and there child Jakie born 05.10.1894.
Now my question: Are there in Ocean Twp more people from Russia, was there a
Russian community or where I can find more about this Isaac and family. He
is not listed in the 1920 census
Hope anyone can help me
Christiane
Good morning all,
Once again I thought that I would try posting for help on the mystery of where these 2 Pattersons are buried. They were originally buried in the Navesink M.E. Church burying ground. However, that is now a parking lot. I found out that they could have been moved to 3 other cemeteries, Crystal Springs, Fairview, and I believe the last was Bayview. However, nobody has found them yet. I had a woman contact me last Dec. saying she was going through the church's records, but she has never gotte

Yes, there are many things about this story that don't make sense. As a
direct descendant of Samuel Allen, I can tell you that the story is
considered now to have been the imagination of Sam's grandson, Ethan Allen
(not THE Ethan Allen). Ethan wrote it all up in an article which he got
printed in a history magazine, and eventually, the story convinced the DAR,
who erected the plaque on what is now Rte. 70. I am very proud of the
storytelling abilities of my ancestors!

I have a couple of questions about old bridges across the Manasquan River.
When was the old Squan bridge built? Is that where the Allenwood-Lakewood Rd now crosses the river? Would that have been the only bridge crossing the river back in 1710?
When was a bridge first built where Highway 70 now crosses? It looks like there was a bridge there on the 1873 atlas.
Thank you.
