I have located a Martin Nilsen on the 1900 Norway census in Municipality: Botne Domicile: Veierud (Godaker, Hagen). He is listed with his parents, Nils Gustav Nilsen and Anna Marie Nilsdatter. Martins birthplace is listed as Botne JL (in the year 1889). What does the JL stand for and where would I search for his birt

Botne JL means Botne in Jarlsberg (but I don't see the JL in that census
though).
I was a bit curious on this one - Nils Gustav Nilsens father Niels
Gabriel Nilsen was my hubbys 2. grandfather!
