If a death is recorded in 1823 in the registers of St Peter Mancroft, would the person have actually been buried in the churchyard or was the Norwich Cemetery in use at that time? Anne in Oz
3. Re: ARMY [1]
Hi to all, Many units were later reformed (if that is the correct term), so if you check fully you may find this has occurred. Haven't been following the thread of this, but if not checked already you may find John M Kitzmiller's "In Search Of The Forlorn Hope" of great assistance. It should be available in major public libraries etc. Regards Lynne Hobart, Tasmania On 26-Mar-99, P JENKINS wrote: >I found some conflicting data it would appear that the 1st/2nd 95 of foot >were at both battles.

As well as listing burials at Norwich cemetery (names, date of death, age) the LDS film no 0496511 has listings for the following places ; Bergh Apton Broome Gelderston Kirby Cane Stockton Thurton Thwaite This is well worth a look if you are searching for ancestors from any of these places. Some of them date back to 1600-1700's and up to the late 1900's Aussie Annie

9. ARMY RECORDS [0.972064]
Hi all, Sorry about the fat fingers Mark, how's the list going? This maybe a bit long winded but bear with me. One James Spencer was one of the first settlers on the south Island of New Zealand, marriage number one. He fought at Corunna & waterloo rose to sergeant. How do I find which regiments were ingaged in both battles. Who has the army records for 1809-1815 ? This maybe the only way of tracing him, it will be slow as the army was 25,000 strong. In the mean time I will sit here and very slowly put ove

Hi Jessica, found your info and list of patients in Thorpe Asylum most interesting, if abit sad. I have to admit I hav`nt heard of paralysis as a menopausal symptom before?! 13. Marraige Records [0.972064]
David, Though there were no "certificates" issued as such prior to 1837, but it is possible that the paper copy of a "Marriage Licence" may hay been issued and survived (refer local County Record office). Before that of course there were the issue of allegations and bonds, which may be found (if you are lucky)! Hello: Sorry to tell you but the certificate you need is just about 2 years too early for the civil registers. The best hope you have is to locate a marriage license or find the marriage in the parish registers. Good luck! 17. The updated Ancestral File [0.972064]
Hi all - Earlier there was a question regarding what was on the updated Ancestral File CD-ROMs at our local Family History Centers. I took a look at it tonight and I found that the Ancestral File has been expanded by two discs (from 7 to 9) with an additional 6 million names. Some URLs regarding the AF: http://www.utw.com/~tornado/ancfile.html http://www.lds.org/en/2_Welcome_to_the_FHC/Ancestral_File.html I hope this helps - Mark -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ markhow@oz.
