6. Whitaker/Whittaker [1]
Dear Listers, In 1848 Elizabeth Ann Page married John Christmas Whitaker at St. Nicholas in Great Yarmouth. The 1851 Census shows them in Great Yarmouth still, but after that I can't find out what happened to them. Perhaps they emigrated? Elizabeth had two brothers who migrated to South Australia in the 1850s, but there doesn't seem to be any trace of them all joining up. Can anyone, perhaps researching Whitaker/Whittaker and earlier Whiteacre, shed any light on this please? Iris Page in Auckland
7. RE: 1851 census lookup [1]
The data is arranged as "Name Relationship Mar Age Sex Occupation Birthplace". Thus the M's are M for male not M for month. 9. CHAPMAN lookup please [1]
Is any-one able to look up the marriage of Charles Chapman which I think happened in Salhouse St Faiths parish 1738 or 9 as their first child John was born in 1740. His wife's name was Mary, but no surname is listed in the IGI or Norfolk transcription site for the births of the children and I can't find a marriage. I believe my 5x great grandfather to be their son Roger bp 1745 . Any information at all on this family would be great. thanks, Lyn Dalley New Zealand.

12. Re: information (coroner) [1]
My great-grandfather dropped dead on his way to work one morning in Soham, Cambs. in 1889, and an inquest was held. This was - and is still -customary if the deceased was not ill, elderly, and/or under a doctor's care. The coroner determines the cause of death. 21. Re: TRAWLER - FISHER PRINCE Registration GY656 [1]
Hi Angela, GY is the registration number for Gt. Yarmouth. Norfolk. Perhaps the Yarmouth newspapers might have something on this trawler, or perhaps the Yarmouth Library, they are very good about such things.. Also there is a chance that someone in Norfolk could look in the Yarmouth Mercury, the local paper, which might help. I know they are filmed and you can get access, at the library I think. When viewed on-line, there's also previous reports linked to the article in today's Telegraph. It was very interesting to read in a report originally written on Jan 1st 2002 that (quote) "The 1891 census should be digitally scanned and available online by spring 2003, with the 1881 census following the next year" end of quote. I wonder what happened to that grand plan? Or have the PRO done with the 1891 what they wanted to do with the 1901 - put it on the net without anyone knowing . Search engines - s
