2. Re: failed GRO search/Elizabeth BARBER query [1]
I have been responding off list to all those who gave me advice on my GRO search. (I hope I haven't missed anyone. I was "under the weather" and a little slow to respond.) To Teresa: Right now the earliest Elizabeth BARBER I have was born 1850 in Loddon District. I haven't been able to get back much before 1820s with my BARBERs. Thanks for asking however. I will keep yours in mind. LaVonne >I have an Elizabeth Barber in my line. She married Thomas Gibbs in 1776 at Hemsby. Among their children are Joh

Hello all SHREEVE researchers. I have an Elizabeth SHREEVE who married Ben WEST in 1794 in St. Simon and St. Jude, Norwich. That's all the information I have on her. 7. Advice on failed GRO search, please [1]
Hello listers, Today I received a reply from the GRO in reference to a birth certificate I had requested. :-( My request was for a Jonathan BARBER, born in Loddon District about 1845. I recently had found a Jonathan BARBER in Loddon in the March 1845 quarter on the FreeBMD. The volume number was given as 13. The page number I thought was suppose to be 47. There is a space between the 4 and the 7. Does this mean there is suppose to be another number there? The reply stated there was no one by that na

I've never known a certificate to be stamped in any way to confirm its authenticity. The certificate form is designed to be hard to fake and the registrar's signature will be a matter of record in its own right so I doubt if there is any need to worry. Keith -- Web Site:
