I am trying to find Berit but I cannot figure out where Kornsve is. I assume it is a farm name but from where? Can anyone help with this? Her info is Berit Sivertsdatter Kornsve b 1809 in Skatval, Stjordal, Nord Trondelag, Norway d 1891 in Skatval, Stjordal, Nord Trondelag, Norway She married Torleif Gunnarson Skaraaen b 1809 in Skatval d 1894 in Skatval I would like to find Berit's parents if at all possible. Okay I am assuming this is another one of those people who lived on a portion of a farm and were therefore not listed anywhere. Hi, List. This discussion about Terriels has brought up a question I'd forgotten to ask. Is Torgils pronounced Toryils or Torkils? Or is this dependent on region? For example, I know that Rygene and Rykene are the same name - one is the old spelling and one is the new spelling. So at some point the "g" was pronounced like "k". So I always assumed (and in looking for my ggrandfather Thorkel used that as a basis. . .) that Torgils would have been Torkils. Thanks for any help. Anne Marie

Norma, I wouldn't be surprised if this cemetery actually has a name with a Germanic root. Nielsville had a lot of German settlers in the area.
