3. Serious Problems Out on the Net (and at home) [0.964754]
As many of you have undoubtably noticed, the last week has been a mess out on The Net. Starting one week ago, some clown has been strobing all the hosts and routers on the Internet with an attack that is fatal (locks the machine such that it has to be power cycled to restart) to Win 95 and Win NT boxen. While this didn't directly affect RootsWeb (we're wall-to-wall Unix servers), it did kill one of our network neighbors' NT server. Unfortunately that NT server was providing reverse DNS for some of RootsW

13. Re: Emigrant Protecal [0.964754]
Helo Karla The Emigrant Protokol for the Port of Trondheim is indexed by parish, first name and surname which in Norway means the patrynimic name, these films are located at the LDS, NAHA and at the Vestrehiem in Madison, WI. I have the topograpical or parish index, if you get that far, which gives age, date leaving and passenger number which can be looked up on another film. Hello Trond: I was just at the LDS center in SLC looking at some immigration information yesterday. One source I was reading about where people went from Quebec, was that many of them went into the USA via Albany, New York. I don't know if this is of any help but I found our family went thru Albany and on to Wisconsin. Then some of them went on to Minnesota & North Dakota.
