Hello List, Going thru my "stuff" and found the sister of my g gmother married Abraham Lincoln Hanson born in Decorah Iowa in 1860. He was born in a compound/stockade as the Indians were on the warpath. This Hanson married Petra Sophia Johannesen/Johnson (Falkum). They had 10 children from 1887 to 1907. Hello Lois, I also have a Anders Olsen Bole (1756-1807) and he wife Maren Annundsdatter Loberg (1760-1807). They lived in Bratsbergskov in Gjerpen parish. Is this the same Anders Olsen in your line. I am new to the list. Any help you can give me in English or Norwegian will be greatly appreciated. My great granfather was Knute KLINGEN born June 22, 1859 in Trondheim. His wife Jennie OLSON born June 6, 1865 also in Trondheim. At least that is what I was told. Jennie OLSON's father was Ole A. OLSON, born 1834, her mother was Rende OLSON born November 25, 1829. I just came across this letter that was in my great grandmother's things.Johanna(Jennie in the USA) parents changed their name when they came to the US to OLSON. I believe my earlier information was incorrect in stating they were from Trondheim. I think that is where they boarded ship for USA. Maybe Johanna's husband Knute Anders Klingen and family were from Orkedalen. Any help sorting this out would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Diane sully@airmail.net

Just ran across the last name Gujord that I think is a great greandmother of my husbands. I tried to find it listed in a book of Norwegian names and it didn't appear. Does any oen know. the fmaily is from Molde, Norway. I know that this Anna Gujord is from Norway but that doesn't necessarily mean it is norwegian right? It could be Swedish or something. June and July are very good months for a trip to Norway.Weather conditions usually acceptable,though surprises may arise.If you plan the trip at an early stage and book rooms ahead, you will certainly have no prob- lems. And probably no crowds and waiting lines snoop- ing around archives, libraries and such during summer- time. Have a nice trip. Can someone tell me where to look for information on Dorathea "Dora" Paulsen born June 4, 1863 in Tangen. I have a lot of information on her after she married my great- grandfather Hans Bergstrom in 1890, but I do not know much about her before that. Her parents are Marie and Paul Paulsen Tollefsen.
