Thank you all for your replies for Forest Reefs. I am researching for a friend who does not have any information on her father. She will be 90 this month and I hope to be able to give her details on her family for her birthday. I am researching EDWARD JAMES HENRY McCREADY born Forest Reefs 1875, died Lords Place, Orange, 1911. He was the son of JAMES McCREADY and ANNIE EMILY FARRELL born Bathurst ca 1853 died Western Australia 1899. Annie Emily Farrell could have been born Sydney in 1842 daughter of Edw
Hi Noel
I too, am interested in the Forest Reefs area which I understand is about
half way between Orange and Carcoar. My family of O'Beirnes (also spent
O'Byrne) owned property there around the 1880s and this property was sold in
1911. Anything you find on the area would be helpful to me too. My
family names of interest are:
O'Beirne (O'Byrne)
McKeon (McEwan)
Carroll

John,
I also have a copy of 'Orange & District Illustrated'.
Was yours actually published 1828, or is like mine a 'facsimile edition'
published by the Orange City Council in 1989.
Ray MACKENZIE -
Could anyone tell me whether there is a book re Bathurst district as there
is for Orange district? Or is perhaps Bathurst covered in the Orange
one?
Thanks

Hi i am new to this list so hi to everyone.
I am searching for information on Esther Eve Simpson who is supposed to have been born in Orange about 1867. Her fathers name was Frederick. I need to know if she was born there, the family story always was that the family came from Scotland, but her death certificate says Orange NSW.
I hope someone can help.
Thankyou very much.

For Laraine Goodworth
Laraine, I noticed that you mentioned you had a Saunders family line. I am
researching my great grandfather Frederick Peter Saunders who was born in
Canterbury, Kent, and who emigrated to Australia in the early 1850's. His
children were Mary, Charlotte, Thomas, Frederick and Florence. Do you know
anything?
Happy year 2000 to all

Thank you for info. If you could possibly check the Vol. 1 index for
McAlisters and Wilcox/Wilcock(s) I would greatly appreciate it. James
McAlister was a blacksmith, not sure when he & family arrived in Bathurst,
early 1840's I believe.
One daughter Jane married an Edward Wilcox and lived and died also in
Bathurst.
I shall make enquiries about the books from Bathurst library.
Thanks again.

Dear Ian,
I am interested in your connections with the Tooheys. I have an interest in
Michael Toohey (Touhey) who married Johanna Ryan, daughter of Michael Ryan
and Bridget Hennessy. My main line of research is Hennessy, 7 siblings
arrived (6 on the one ship) in 1850 and settled in Camden area. They then
spread out all over NSW. Does any of this sound familiar? There were lots of
Tooheys around Burrowa area too. - my lot as well.

Hello fellow researchers,
Pat Mahoney is researching the BOLTONS. I am the gt gt grandaughter of
Patrick Lawler and Mary Ann (nee Bolton) of Meadow Flat near Bathurst.
Mary Ann was born in 1831 to Isaac BOLTON and Lucy Macmanus (nee Bradley).
The couple married after Mary Ann's birth. Isaac and Lucy farmed at Meadow
Flat in the 1850s and both died there.Previously they had been at Eastern
Creek near Prospect.
Isaac was the son of convicts, Robert and Ann BOLTON who arrived in the
early 1800s.
