G'day Wal,
I am also searching for rellies in the area you have described, to wit CARR and BARBER
which are not your interests. But should you find any connection please advise me.
I am still in communication with the Mudgee Historical Society which has already been
most helpful, and I am waiting for more information.
You will find if you send them a request with a $20-$30 subscription they will conduct a
search for you of the local records. The name and address to contact is.............

Hi everyone
I have a transcript of a marriage dated 28/04/1862
between Alan TIPPER and Mary Ann CHANNELL
in Orange and I am interested in the witnesses
Clement SHAKESPEAR and Annie CULVERSON
If anyone knows anything about them I would appreciate
details as it could help explain why Mary Ann moved
from her family in Camden to Orange.
It may also help tracing how Alan left his family in
Sussex ,England if he travelled with someone as we
have been unable to trace his arrival.
Many thanks
Ian McMahon.

Dear all,
would anyone else be interested in the Coopes (aka Coups or Coops) of
Wattle Flat near Sofala (1857 to 188x). Peter Coopes married Hannah Martin
in 1853 at Hunters Hill Sydney and moved to Wattle Flat about 1857.
They had about 14 children and I understand that some descendants still
live in the Bathurst region.
Adelaide Coopes was my gggrandmother.

Guntawang was originally stolen by the Cox family in 1822. They were forced
to abandon it a couple of years later after hostilities with the local
Wiradjuri. The site was then taken up by the Rouse brothers.

Doreen,
Peat and Milson Islands are on the Hawkesbury River, just west of the
Hawkesbury River bridge, which is on the Pacific H'way between Sydney and
Gosford.
I don't know if it is still used as a hospital. It was when I lived in
Gosford in the early 1970's.
