It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of Bob Berrington, one of the Nevada Tombstone Project's most proliferate contributors.
Since the first email I received from Bob, volunteering to photo cemeteries in Washoe County where he lived, Bob had sought out old cemeteries in the area, and captured in his pictures much of our early history. One of the highlights of Bob's contributions was the forgotten cemetery at the Nevada Mental Institute Cemetery, in Sparks, Nevada. Little did I realize
I'm pleased to announce that two new cemeteries have been added to the Nevada Tombstone Project.
Fred Jorgenson of Pahrump, along with the Pahrump Genealogical Society, have combined their efforts and the result is a completely documented Grandview Cemetery, with photos. This cemetery is a fairly new cemetery, and is well maintained. Fred has also submitted updated photos for Pahrump's other cemetery, Chief Tecopa Cemetery, which will be posted in the near future.
Pahrump is located in Nye County. We r
