If anyone who does genealogical research in Troy NY, has been lucky
enough to stop in the Troy Public Library (a must), you have probably
picked up Loretta Nial's book, "Tombstone Inscriptions in Cemeteries in
Troy, Rensselaer County, NY, Indicating a Foreign Place of Origin." It
is basically what it says, all hand typed in 1976 and bound in a hard
cover that one would use to submit an important college study to a
professor. It is a valuable resource, if your ancestor come from

Pat,
I think that info on Passenger arrival in NY is very useful.
If you could post it to the Irl-Kerry list I think it would help a few
people there who have been inquiring about indexes. Thanks Joanne

Dear Pat;
Thankyou so much for that web site. If you were sitting here in my living room right now, you'd get the biggest hug.
My very elusive McQuaids, parents Robert and Elizabeth, and 2 of their children are on this site. Now that I know exactly where the kids were born, maybe I ca
I am pleased to announce that I have started getting the 6th ward on

The 6th ward of Troy is at the southern most part of the town and
included 3,712 individuals living in 531 dwellings in 756 families.
There are 29 transcribers who should get the main thanks for this.
They are: Brooke Myers, Eugene Brown, Jerry Hurbert, Herbert Phelps,

Hi List:
Does anyone have access to Buffalo Directories for any year between 1880 and 1904?
I have just located my gg uncle James Smith and his family on the 1880 census and he was listed with his wife Lucy, sons George and Walter, daughters Mary Anne, Margaret and Lucy.

I'm still trying to pin point his brother John who also emigrated to Buffalo, N.Y.
Any information or suggestions for online inf

Here's how it describes itself:
The site has been created to house transcriptions of Ontario Birth

Ontario & York County lists on Rootsweb.
Birth Registrations housed on this website cover the period 1869 to
