1. Re: [NY IRISH] Generous Offer - why onlist? [1]
Just one more viewpoint: I'm sure the majority of this list are so grateful to anybody who volunteers their precious time to do lookups that the last thing they would do is nitpick over the fact that the mailing list is larger than usual. I certainly wouldnt. Surely the whole point of this or any mailing list is to share?? Is it really such a huge bother to quickly run through your emails & delete them? I had 105 tonight, mainly from this list & cleared them in ten minutes. Also, I think it would be mor

9. [NY IRISH] Surname Roster update [1]
I finally finished updating the surname rosters for the NY Irish Mailing List website. I am sorry I was so far behind, some requests were dated April 3rd! But I just added over 50 names plus I am trying to streamline the process. At the bottom of each page, I have added a simple form you fill out to add your surname(s). No more sending an email! You can submit as many as you like as long as they fit the parameters of the list, Irish and at one point or another, in New York State. Good luck. Oh, if I

14. Re: [NY IRISH] St. Rose of Lima Church-Rockaway [1]
There is a St Rose of Lima in Rockaway, but I'm unsure who you would contact. The streets you mentioned have all disappeared. Those streets were all what was called "bungalow" colonies and were populated by the Irish, whether all year round or during the summers. I recall my Granny telling stories of seeing her Cavan friends during the summer in the Rockaway's. I would guess there may be a historical sight that would be able to tell you more in either Queens or Brooklyn. Good luck.. Fran ----- Original Me

18. [NY IRISH] The lost years of Jesus [1]
The Israeli link is true! I saw a show on the Discovery Channel that sought to prove that Jesus and Joseph of Arimathea were in Ireland during "the lost years" between being lost in the temple and the age of 30. Ireland is certainly sacred ground in my book. Oy Vey! 22. [NY IRISH] Irish Citizenship [1]
Hi, I did some googling, as Pat suggested. All of my grandparents were born in the US. Two of my great-grands were born in Ireland. I could register ONLY if my parent had registered, AND if I'd been born after 1956. Have I got that right? Too bad ... my googling also showed that it would be worth doing if one could, especially with Ireland being in the EU! Regards, Peggy
