Hi, Pat,
Thanks for the suggestion. It had been a while since I looked there; the
obituary for C.V.B. Barse hadn't been in there the last time I scanned the
site. I found the brother-in-law's obituary, and have added his vitals to my
file. There was nothing on Randall and Barse or Mills and Randall,
unfortunately.

have you looked on Old Fulton NY Postcards? this is a data base of old ny
newspapers. I searched for C.V.B. Barse (exact phrase) and got about 31
hits. One of the hits was his obituary. another was the obituary of his
brother-in-law. more about is politics, business, etc.
www.fultonhistory.com try searching for Randell's.

Hi, listees,
An update to my previous posts. *Finally*, yesterday I received the death
certificate for my 3x greatuncle Claudius Victorus Bouton Barse (C.V.B.
Barse) with the maiden name of my 4x greatgrandmother Betsey Barse. Her
maiden name was RANDALL.
I have been burning up the census lists on Ancestry and looking at the
familysearch.org information, and - what a surprise - there's no easy
finding Betsey Randall's parents!
What I know: *Betsey Randall* was born in Vermont (from census entries and
