There are a few places I'd look.
The NYS Archives has film of a series A0389 [the second character is a
zero] that was done right at the end of the war. It is in 3 parts-
soldiers that died, soldiers that served, and soldiers that are still
in service. From there it is arranged geographically by county &
town.
Complete description here-

The completeness depends on the clerk in the local town. I looked
through the series for a few north-country to

For those seeking information on ancestors serving in the Revolutionary War, I came across a wonderful source. It is the muster list for Valley Forge for the years 1777 and 1778 and includes troops from many states including New York.
It can be found along with other information concerning the Rev. War at:

Just one week after deserting the De Meuron's, on September 9, 1813
Charles enlisted as a Private in the U.S. 2nd Light Dragoons at

His name was Pierre-Simon LaFond, although I have seen him referred to as both Pierre LaFond as well as Simon LaFond.
I appreciate the help!

Thank goodness we don't dismantle the Army in between wars.
If I were a father the Army life would look much better when there was
