Would anyone out there having the Family Tree CD #157 (Family History -Early New York Families 1600s - 1900s) be kind enough to see what it shows for William Sumner Waterbury?
He is one of our elusive ancestors.
W.S.W. was married to Mary Adella Clapp ( another relative whom I'm having trouble tracking down).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I clipped a very interesting article from the Times-Union, the Albany, NY newspaper, dated 30 Apr 2000. It included a 1900 Kansas photo (Kansas State Historical Society) of an engine and three railroad cars. 90-100 children were standing on top of the cars, on the side of one car, and alongside the engine on a second set of tracks.
The children were from New York City. Does anyone know if a list of the children exists? Did the children change their surnames when they became part of the new family?

Is someone on the list working on the name Coughtry? For some reason I
thought there was. I am looking for a Coughtry who married a great aunt of
mine. I have obtained a few marriage records for Coughtry and would be
willing to share.

Am seeking information on EDGAR VARNEY.
Edgar is listed in the 1900 Census, Albany City, Ward 15, E. D. 54,
Sheet 7. He was 38 years old and married to SUSIE PLUMMER, age 32. They had
one son, MAURICE, age 3.
The census states that Edgar was a minister. Is there any way that I
can find out the following: type of minister and what church affiliation?
I could not locate Edgar and his wife in the 1920 NY Soundex, so the 1900
Census is my only source of information.
Would appreciate k
I have had 2 posts in reference to The Schuyler line... The original
settlers of Albany NY... Some later moved to Bergen and other counties in
NJ. I had an outpouring of answers and URL's, and Suggestions...
However, none of them resulted in a genealogy for the SCHUYLER line..
Thanks to the many who responded.
I am still looking for a Genealogy of the Phillip Pieterse SCHUYLER/Johannes
Pieterse SCHUYLER line, ca 1625... Thanks. Any help appreciated...

Working on Worden Family.
I have Adolphious Worden born in Ohio March 1815, married Matilda Parker, and
died in Grand Traverse County, Michigan Dec 2, 1869. (I have their
descendants.)
1850 Census show Adolphius and Matilda with 5 children living in Adams
Township, Hillsdale County, Michigan. They have some connection with Lyon

It has been brought to my attention that I may very well have offended a
number of people with my previous post. Nothing could be farther from my
intention...
I am very thankful for the many, many offers of URL's, hints, suggestions
etc.
I was not, and am not expecting anyone to "give" me their many, many years
of research. Or, a copy of their family tree. I know what is involved in
research, as I have been at this for 30+ years, and have always been
willing, and ready to share information, or help. That
Hi, Cousins,
I know this is off-topic, and if you're annoyed at me for this, I'm sorry,
but I feel we need to help protect each other whenever possible.
With the recent virus scares going around, I thought I ought to share this.
Several weeks ago I received a Trojan Horse-type virus from a fellow lister.
Fortunately, my now two-year-old virus program caught most of it. There was
an occasional odd little glitch here and there that bothered me but I had
no idea what was going on until I later heard

In my haste to send out the last e-mail I left out that I believe the marriage took place in the "Albany area" and would have been around the turn of the century, 1900 that is.

I am trying to learn more about my father's maternal grandfather,
Rudolph Francis Melchior. He was born about 1841 in Prussia and migrated
to Albany with his father Adam in 1870.
He is believed to have operated a religious art store in the 100 block
of Central Ave. (possibly number 127 ) near the end of the 1800s and
possibly in the early 1900s. He died in 1916. He was an artist and
tradition has it that he did some of the painting inside of Our Lady of

Anyone researching the LOEB family from the city of Albany? In
particular William LOEB Jr. He ended up being the secretary to
President Theodore Roosevelt. Family lore has it that William was a
cousin of my great grandfather, John J. HANS and that William got him a
job at the White House around 1904. I have documentation to verify that
John did work for the President at that time, but I have found no
connection between the LOEB and HANS families.
