Norton has messed my data files - I was told to GET RID OF IT AS FAST AS I
COULD
We did and all is fine - there are a lot of horror stories connected to
Norton 2001 ---I am sure there are people that like it, but I don't want to
chance it again - we got rid of it after it messed us up and now use
McAfee--

Nicki,
I don't have such a map but I would imagine one exists and may even be
something that has been found out by someone on this list. What time
frame were you interested in?

Thanks Jim. At least that narrows things down a little. I'm in the general
area at least. And you're not the only one who refuses to call the Knick
the Pepsi Arena. Old habits die hard I guess.

Does it give you any indication on how long the family has been in this
country? You know that you can now search Ellis Island records on line.
That might be a good place to start. Also there are a number of web sites
that have ship passenger lists, some dedicated to the Irish Immigrants.
Go to your favorite search engine and type in PASSENGER LISTS. I personally
use www.google.com but you can use which ever one you are comfortable with.

Knox is only 1/2 mile long. There are two cemetaries in Knox. One is right
in back of the church. The other is the Knox Cemetery and is at the Northern
end of the hamlet on the right as you head toward Altamont. Ralph

Bill there were (2) 49 Mulberry St's!! At least when I as a kid. I'm 53
years old and lived there from 1950 - 1960 when the street was eliminated
for the Giffen School. MY grand parents lived there for 30 years as well.
The "49" I lived in was a 2 story flat with us downstairs and the the owners
up. Next to me was an empty lot #51. Next to that was the other #49 which
was a 3 story flat. You could check the city directories to hopefully find
how many families lived there when they did and that should answ
Forgot about this, folks, but www.Mapquest.com gives good current day
location for virtually any US address--at least it's a starting point to
reorient yourself. In some cases, but apparently not Albany, Mapquest also
provides an aerial photo.
S. Ferry and Dallius Streets are shown. Didn't check on the Kenwood
discussion of a few days ago, but that might be shown also.

Hi,
On a 1900 census, I have found a Mary READEY, age 53,b.in Ireland, with children Patrick, 24, and Agnes 17. Both born in NY.They are found at what looks like 41 Remsellaer St. Does anyone have connections to this family?? I only have a copy of the index card which does not give much details. It is vol.1, ED 11, sheet 3, line 73.
Since the spelling of this name is pretty scarce, there is no doubt this family belongs in my husbands tree. How can I find out who the husband was in this above family?Or if there
I have a copy of an Albany map dated 1869 that shows Van Woert St,
running West from Broadway up to about Lark St. The Dudley Observatory
is just North of Van Woert St, up on a hill known as Dudley Heights.
There was a brick yard on lower Van Woert St. The houses and part of Van
Woert St. gave way to an express way (I-90).
I had KILMARTIN relatives at 79 Van Woert St. and 88 Van Woert.
RAFFERTY relatives at 112 Van Woert St., all around 1920's and 1930's
In 1880's KILMARTIN's lived at 29 South St. and on
A small section of Dallius still exists but there are no homes on it any
more. There are parking lots on some of it but the street sign is still there
and I photographed that for my scrapbook. Up until two years ago there was a
small row of early homes a short distance away which I imagine looked like
the original homes on Dallius.
It seems that most of our ancestors lived on some of the same streets, such
as Dallius. My guess is that is where the newcomers stayed and then moved out
into other areas.

What a find. I was not even going to put in the address. The Feeley's at
49 Mulberry I am not sure what relation they are to me but they were John

least. The Feeley's at 8 S. Ferry are /were my Uncle Paul,Aunt Delia,Paul
jr,Don, & Mike. Mike and I are the same age. My Grand mother and other Aunts
lived at 25 S. Ferry before they moved to 9 Elizabeth I live on Bohl Ave

You can use a search engine to find many things such "Knox Cemetery" Just

I'd like to thank Gerry for the info on the virus.
I got it too even though I thought I knew what to do protect myself (not
opening attachments etc) but it made it to my computer by attaching itself
to someone's email without that person or me even realizing it. My virus
protection didn't catch it until I updated my virus list at WWW.sarc.com.
Catching it now may have saved me a lot of heartache. Thanks again Gerry.
