Replying to Pat Wood, Washington:
My great grandparents Patrick Britton (Britten?) and his wife Johanna Finn
emigrated from Ireland to Brooklyn via Liverpool sometime in the early
1850s.
Patrick was a horse shoer/blacksmith/veterinarian. He was my Dad's maternal
grandfather, and his children included Joseph, Edward, Agnes, Theresa, and
Mary (my grandmother; she married Charles Fagan). They lived on Steuben
Street.

Would some kind soul be able to see if there was an obituary for HYMAN SILVER, who died around 1955 in Brooklyn. He was a wealthy man who was the owner of a furniture factory, so I'm pretty sure there would be an obituary.
Thanks,

I knew a Gary Gitlin who went to school in Long Island. He would be around
60 years old. Sadly he passed away about two months ago. Most of our class
of '59 at Levittown are 58-60 years old.
I do not know if Gitlin is a common name or not, because Gary was the only
Gitlin I knew. Possibly his family originated from Brooklyn,Kings County
as did mine. Just a thought
