For a LONG time I have been looking for information on my gggrandfather Leonard
Budd (whose MI probably is L), as well as his parents and possible siblings. A
late uncle did research and a typescript in the 1950s-60s that in general was of
pretty good quality, though I have found some errors. He was able to consult
several of Leonard's grandchildren, though I don't think they knew much since he
died quite young, and also apparently the Budd family Bible before it and 2
others were--shriek--sold to an antiqu
Is anyone willing and able (i.e., with ready access to the info) to do me the favor of a census lookup, for whatever details exist? My gggrandfather, Leonard Budd, is shown in the Ancestry.com NY federal census database for the 1830 census. This is the ancestor I'm having such a hard time finding out anything about (to say nothing of the fact I know nothing about who came before him). Since he was born, I guess, about 1800, was married in 1828, and died in 1836, this is probably the only census under which

I ordered a microfilm at our local LDS with an index of naturalized citizens
in Monroe Co between 1823-1906. It didn't help me much, however I copied the

Hello List:
I am anxious to find a death notice for an ancestor who died in 1908 in
the Rochester area. Without knowing the actual date of death, I wonder
if there is any way of finding it? Is it possible to search old
newspapers on the internet? Is there such a thing as a cumulative
list? Grateful for ANY assistance at all. Pauline

Hi listers,
Would someone kindly please look up a newspaper in the Rochester area for
the death of Mabel Bregmen who died on 16 March 1994 according to the
Social Security Death Index.
The address given is 14624 North Chili, Monroe, New York.
Mabel Light was born in Somerset, England and married Seddon Bregmen in
Kent, England. Two daughters were born in New Zealand the 1920s. I have
their given names and birthdates. They went to New York when they were
young. I do not know their married names.

The Freedom of Information Act has nothing to do with accessing school
records. School records are private whereas the Freedom of Information Act
concerns itself with the classification of government, i.e. public,
documents. Asking for school records would be equivalent to asking a
doctor for medical records or a lawyer for legal records. I'm a teacher,
so I know these things.

Hi:
After a few months of searching, I have finally found, by calling
Irondequoit Cemetery personnel, that Esther Lois SEVEY HANRAHAN and her
husband, Michael J. HANRAHAN are buried in this cemetery. The only
information that they have, however, is the date of burial and cemetery lot
number. They did indicate funeral home as the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Inc.
of Rochester.
I have been trying to reach someone at the McLaughlin Funeral Home with no
success and wonder if someone, when they might

NY state censes are on microfilm and can be rented for a nominal fee
from your nearest Family History Center in the local LDS church. That is
where I got the 1865 state census and found an ancestor.

I'm not sure if this will help you narrow the field...
The WHOLE of the area including the Finger Lakes, Monroe County, Wayne
County, and surrounding counties had many orchards of various sorts. Wayne
Co. still has commercial orchards and canneries.
Just east of Parma is Greece that had many orchards before suburbs took over.

Sandy,
I have a file containing material available at the Ogden Farmer's Library and
note (in the file) that they have census records for Riga in 1855 and later
years. They could be a good resource for that marriage record. Go to:
