I believe that REED is a name the HAND FAMILY married into there. They lived in MA till about 1644 when they went first to Southampton and 1649 to Easthampton.
One of the brothers, Joseph, moved to Guilford CT ca 1662.
My line of HANDS had 3 more brothers move to CAPE MAY NJ ca 1700.
