Hello again,
Thanks to all who replied so far to my query about the
location of Rockwell, NY. The town is mentioned in a
printed bio I have of Obadiah Brown and Mary Weist. He
was supposedly born in Rockwell. Don't know who
published the bio, I have a home typed copy from an
aunt. Some of the ancestors were from Sullivan county,
NY. Just my luck, I've only been "working" on these
people for about 3 hours now and already having
problems!! Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Done! I love playing Santa Claus.
There are numerous references to William (though probably not all the same
person), and a couple to Obadiah. All of the references are in lists of
names -- men who were working in the town, men who had children baptized,
etc. I didn't see any narrative references at all.
If you'd like copies of the pages, email your mailing address and I'll send
photocopies -- hopefully before Christmas, though things are getting a might
bit crazy around here.

Happy Holidays to everyone!
I would most like to have proof that my ggg grandfather, Daniel Wager born
about 1823 in Marbletown was truly the son of Peter Wager and Elizabeth
Christiana of Marbletown. I have a death certificate of one Daniel Wager who
lists them as his parents but I can't prove that there weren't two Daniels at
the same time. (There were two listed in the 1860 census).

Holiday greetings to all,
Does anyone have access to or own the book entitled "The First 150
years of the Goodwill Presbyterian Church, Montgomery, NY" by James
Milligan Dickson, pub. 1880? If so, I'd greatly appreciate a look-up
to see if the surname Allis, Allison, Allessen, Ellis, Ellison or some
other spelling variant is indexed. I am particularly interested in the
1600s and early 1700s.
My earliest known ancestor, Joseph Allison was in Southold on Long
Island in 1720 and moved to Goshen in 172

Hello,
I am doing research on Diners and Lunch Wagons. My general coverage area
is upstate New York, but I would be interested in hear about any stories
relating to diners from anywhere. I am looking for any information
concerning diners of the past or the present. This would include stories
from former customers, former owners, pictures or any other recollections.
It is always great to place a diner with a family and/or with some of its
customers, as this is what a diner is really about. S

Happy Holidays to everyone!
What I'd most like for Christmas is to find the parents and birthplace
and the wife of Joseph ALLISON of Goshen. He moved to Goshen in 1725
and died there in 1755.
Joseph's children were Eliza (m. Benjamin MOORE), Joseph, Richard,
Richardson,
Isaac, Thomas, Benjamin, Cornelius, Phoebe, Sarah, Elizabeth and
William.

I'd like to exchange a Christmas genealogical gift with someone who

Dear Marjorie,
Thank you so much for your very helpful research! William ALLISON was
the youngest son of Joseph ALLISON. He became a General from Orange
Co., NY during the Rev. War.
I am very intrigued by your information from the Ulster County Wills
Vol. I and II in which you found a mention of Hyman Allessen in a will
dated March 26, 1678. Could you tell me in whose will he was mentioned
and what was said about him? This is the first I've heard about Hyman
Allessen and it could be that Joseph was re
Looking for info on a John VanZile b. abt.1794 New Paltz . married a Esther ? (on Mary death certificate)
His daughter Mary VanZile married James H. St John (sension).
I'm looking for info due to I have stories from the newspaper stating another name for Mary VanZile. Too long of a story to type....
Who were Michael Pattison's parents? He was born around 1755 or 1760 and
married Catherine Osterhout and later Cornelia (Nelly) Keator. Lived in
Marbletown and Saugerties and then moved to Roxbury after the war. Any help
is appreciated.

Dear Rosemary--
I hope this will bring you a Merry Christmas!
I have a little info for you from the Yaple Family in America, published
in 1990 by Doris Yaple Geist and her father, Roland W. Yaple, Sr. On
Page 395 she lists the following dates/info which I'm noting in BOLD

items I've marked with a line through. I'm not trying to imply that
your info is incorrect--just different or spelled differently from what
is in this book. By t
These genealogy wishes for Christmas was a great idea and I have been
reading each one carefully hoping to find someone that I could help.
Here is my wish list.
To fill that gaping hole in my family charts. I know next to nothing about
my great grandfather Elijah Haight. From census records he was born about
1830 and some of his children's death certificates say in New Paltz. He
married Ann Elizabeth Chaffin/Chapin who was born in New Paltz 18 July
1838, daughter of Alonzo Chamberlain Chapin and Catheri
Hello,
I've just joined the list. I want to be sure I'm in
the right place since county lines may have changed.
I'm researching a John Leonard Brown b. 1850 Sundown,
Ulster county. Is Sundown still in Ulster co?
Thanks,
Bonnie

I am looking for information on the surname MINARD.
James MINARD (b. 1745 New London, CT) and Abigail Camp moved to Ulster
County, NY. Some of their children were born there; however, from what I
have heard, some were born in Mass. and Vermont. I am a desc. of George
Minard b. 1785 Windham Co., VT. After carefully checking the William Minard
Sr. (b. abt 1735 CT) family living in Windham County, VT, I feel George is
not descended from him. James could be William's brother. George married
