Mike,
I found them. Unfortunately, the 1840 Census and older were not very
detailed. They only recorded the head of household's name and counted the
family members according to age groups.
Here is what I have for you.....

I too have been corresponding with Bill and Raymona for many years. He and
I are cousins thru the BROUWER line back to the immigrant Adam . I have no

I have heard about the famous (infamous??) lawsuit but have no personal

I'd grab the Super 8 in a hurry if were you. With graduations coming up
you'll be lucky if you find anything at all . I went down to Ossining in
1996 around the end of May and was hard pressed to find anything under $100
for double occupancy. It has not changed for the better. I live 50 miles
from that area.

If any list members have access to indexes to marriages, I would like
details of the marriage between John C S BURGER and Frances Anne CANDY.
They were married on 14 April 1866 at Morrisania.
Can anyone help with details of exactly where they married, or the names
of witnesses?
Many thanks

Earlier I posted a note about a marriage license. The maiden name for
the bride is Sarah A. Tompkins. Her parents were Moses and May
Tompkins. Her name at her first marriage was Sarah A Curry, and she is
marrying #2 James Dow.
If this is someone in your line you may have it.
Lilly,
I am glad to hear that you got the email. I would have sent it again
after a couple of more days. It is impossible to be certain when
messages are actually delivered. Sometimes, I am alerted that a message
could not be delivered. On other occasions (seldom, I hope) I am not
informed, but I learn later that the email was not received by the other
person. Sometimes one ISP will temporarily not accept mail from another
ISP which has a customer who has sent out junk mail. Like you, I put a
Dear Maureen,
You are correct. Mr. Bogardus does not use email as a medium of
communication, he prefers regular mail, postal service.
For those of you who want to write him, he does read his mail and he does
answer letters, please be kind enough to send a self-addressed and stamped
envelope for your reply.
The website was not done by him, but was definately his work and name,
address, etc. I have visited that website many times, because it has a
great section written by him, called Frequent Errors, whic
Great, I went to the google site of the Anneke Jans and Everardus Bogardus
Descendants Assoc. and found his addy listed two different ways also. It is
listed on one line as 1121 and on the next few lines down as 1211. So to say
the least, I am still a bit confused as I have had another person confirm
him as the other addy. What to do, what to do? Perhaps I will get creative
and place it on the envelope as 1121 or 1211 and see what happens then. Vicki

I hosted a reunion in Westchester in 1998, and we
used the Marriott in Tarrytown.
At that time, we got rates of $79 for the basic
room... but we also were negotiating to book 20+
rooms, which keeps down the rate.
I'm looking for two obituaries and wondering if someone would offer to look them up for me:
Janet McKenzie Blair, died July 1965, in NY
David Blair, died after 1930 (first or middle initial is "A")
I know they were both in Westchester County, in Cortlandt, as per the 1930 Census. David would have been 60 in 1930, so it would seem that's where he died. I'm not sure whether there is an index in order to look them up, since I don't have the exact dates of death, so maybe I'm asking for too much! Janet's
I believe my great-grandparents were married in Irvington about 1880-1885.
Would I contact the local courthouse in Irvington, or the courthouse in the
town of Greenburgh for a copy of the marriage record? Would the courthouse in
Greenburgh have records for other areas as well (ie. Hastings-on-Hudson)?
Thank you very much!
Shannon
I don't think my Taylor family is the same as yours. Mine all lived in
