I am looking for someone will to do obit lookups in Adams County. The obits that I am looking for are relatively recent ones. I am trying to find relatives of my son's grandfather. Wikoff and his wife, Angeline Collier, I got information from a cemetery book called Green Twp Cemeteries, Adams Co on Point Cemetery. Carol Jean, I really do not have much information on the Kirkendall family. I did have information on James Bealor Dement but I can't find it. I will keep searching and send it on to you. I thought the material was in my computer but might be in my notebooks !!!! My interest in the Kirkendall's is; William Smith Dement married first Malinda Thornburg. Malinda died in 1871. Hello, I'm helping a friend find information on her grandfather. He was William BARNES. His parents were Hamer and Mary Coleman BARNES. Lochrey's Creek is about the 1st below the Great Miami,in Dearborn Co,sw Ind. Capt Archibald Lochrey's company drafted ,or enlisted,in what is now Westmoreland Co,Pa to join Col George Rogers Clark in a proposed expedition into Indian country. Clark,and men,got a head-start downriver on them. Lochrey's company had still not caught up with Clark,and were camped in very,very s e Indiana when ambushed. They had congreagated at Markle's mill,near Robbtown-West Newton,Pa -an area of many sw Ohioi people.

I don't know how many books I just discovered! Many ! I'd known of some digital libraries-I have several aleady book-marked. But pal,Jeanne Barton had sent me an url [web address] of the U.Pittsburg's digital library to research French and Indian war times. And the url did not work,in any combo I could try. I suggest those with families in Adams County, especially those who settled near furnaces, check in Cumberland County, PA for possible ancestors. My HORN family came from the area that is now in Perry County, PA. They were members of the Centre Presbyterian Church there. They moved to Adams County @ 1800. I am going to try to travel to Adams County this week to try to find a marrige record for a Hibbs. Is there a particular time I should go?
