Hi Gerry:
My Great grandfather was Clarence Bethel. He married Agatha Shrider (d/o
Geo.William "Bill" Shrider and Samantha Kirby)
William's mother was Amelia Binkley. I bet we are connected along the way.
I am working on scanning those photos today and will put you on the list of
interested parties.
I know that the Bluffton School photos contains Lydia Stettler, who was my
great Aunt. She eventually married Olan La Rue.

I've had several emails asking for the names of the books where I got the
information I transcribed about the 118th O.V.I. and the Allen County
history, so I thought I would post it to the list instead.
The roster list for 118th O.V.I. was transcribed from:
"Official Roster of the Soldiers of the State of Ohio in the War of the
Rebellion 1861-1866", Volume VIII, published by the Ohio Valley Press
(Cincinnati), 1888.
The township histories were part of 1880 Atlas of Allen County Ohio

I have a lot of information and would love to meet cousins. I also have several class photos of the little Bluffton school (Gratz School, I think) that was connected to my Stettler and Shrider clan. I would guess the photos are ca 1900's. I would love to identify all the children. If folks would like me to scan and

Hi Nancy,
First, do not give up. These Brownings are very hard to research. They were in
about every country in the world. It seems like they were in every State here in
the U.S. too. They seemed to marry wives with the same first name, and name all
their children the same.
We all have been, or still, feeling the same way that you do now. We keep hoping
that the next email, library, court house, cemetery, or micro film we look at will
magically have all our answers. It is not quite that easy. So,
Welcome Judy, Hope you make connections here.
Cousin,Gloria
