Hi Rita....in the marriage records of the Ashland County CH...there are a
few entries at the back of the book......I believe you said they hadn't been
recorded but you had found them in the basement or something...sorry I'm not
being more specific, I am trying to recall from memory, and my memory is
nothing to write home to Mom about! On page 1 of this list, is John Burns -
18.
Can you tell me where the record for this marriage is?

In reference to Nancys question about an 'orphans court' in Ashland
County.
Guardianships are a little tricky to locate. The 'General Index' for
various records in Probate Court is not indexed by the minors surname -
only by the Guardians name. Thus if someone with a different surname is
appointed Guardian of the minor children one will not be able to locate
the record other than going page by page in the General Index. Another
way to find a possible clue as to who was appointed Guardi
Did Ashland Co have an "orpans court"?
If my great grandfather died in 1870 at the age of 30y, left a pregnant
wife, 26 years old......three children 8y; 4y; 3y of age.....would there be
some kind of records where the children were put under her care?
