Stephen von Hitritz I recently found a "Standard Atlas of Holmes County" Compiled by A.J. Stiffler in 1907. It is a very large book measuring about 2 feet wide and about 16-18 Inches high with over 125 pages, It includes individual maps of each township with owner names listed and biographical sketches and photos of many prominent citizens. One featured is a Samuel T Jones born at Millersburg July 4, 1876, son of William H Jones and Elvira V. Miller.. There are litterally hundres of photos of indiv

Am trying to establish the lineage of: Martha Gardner b 1786 York (Adams) Co. PA. m 1814 PA. to John Bonebright d 18 Sept. 1867 Ashland CO. OH Margaret Gardner b 1784 York (Adams) CO. 1870: There is no Ira Carley listed for any county in Ohio. (I have used the Heritage Quest 1870 Head of Household Index for Ohio. Another index might yield a different result.) However, there is a Charles H Carley in Ashland, Montgomery Twp., Nat'l Archives Roll M590-1169, page 728. 1880: there are 4 persons named Ira Carley. Three were born in NY and still there in 1880. The 4th was born in Massachusetts and was found on the census in Connecticut. I have used the LDS 1880 transcription for this search. O

I received Nancy Closson's death record from the State (County Records didn't have it) and She is buried in Morenci, Michigan. Someone from the mailing list of that county told me she shares a stone with an Ira Carley. It does not mention whether this was her first husband or not but she has lived in Ashland all her life. I was wondering/hoping if someone can lookup at Census indexes for 1870 & 1880 and see if Ira Carley is listed in Ashland County. I can do the actual census lookup next time I g

I am not sure if this helps or not but I find a Ira Carley in Michigan 1870 living in Saginaw in Mills Boarding house. He is 21 years old, working as a laborer and was born in New York.
