I am working on the lineage of John Barstow and Sarah Passwater. (John abt 1800 b in Maine). I believe John and Sarah had at least 3 sons who lived in the area. Levi, Joseph Thomas Jefferson, and Lafayette. I believe my grandfather is from the lineage of Joseph Thomas Jeferson Barstow's son John Barstow who married Mary Jackson. My grandfather was Henry Barstow (1885). Is there anyone in Athens County that would know anything about these Barstow families? I would like to have death information on Henry Bars
I know of an area in Miami County, Ohio, that my Dad said used to be called

I live in Columbiana County Ohio, just about five miles from Fredericktown in this county. It is a very small, historic, more of a hamlet-type community that sits on the PA border. It is located in a deep valley with a church and many old homes that most have been kept up.
Beaver Creek, a national and state wild and scenic river, runs through town. The large hills are fully forested and, in my opinion, the best for "leaf peeping" anywhere around. This area is also excellent for birdwatchers in May and June,

Yes, newspaper microfilm can be requested through your local public
library on interlibrary loan. The library staff should help you do it.
You have to tell them what you want and they take care of the rest, at
least that's how it works at my library. Of course, the library has to
have microfilm readers because these films are not allowed to be taken
out of the library and you only have them for about 2 weeks to view.
I have gotten two films from Ohio so far and have a request in for 2

Hi,
I reside in Illinois making it difficult to get to a library in Ohio

with microfilm? I have a genealogy library in close proximity (about 30
miles) which I can get to occasionally. Would it be possible to order
microfilm from a library in OH directed to the library here?

This is not much help on the "How" or the "Where." but I would imagine that
the "why" was due to his being dead.

Carolyn,
Honestly, I don't know. Mentioned in Francis Grimble Steadman's Civil War
Pension files is that he was born 30 AUG 1843 in Morgan Co., Ohio. No
parents mentioned nor on his death certificate in Hartford, AK, d. 22 NOV
1922. In Federal Census Records, I find him first in 1860, Star Twp., Logan
Co., Ohio with Prudence Hamlin and her children. Is listed as a farm hand.

Dear Friends,
This is to let you all know at the same time that I am going to be gone for
an indefinite period of time.
My mother is very ill with congestive heart failure, at least one stroke, is
not responding. If she lasts that long, she will be going into a nursing care
home sometime nest week.
I am leaving Seattle at 1:30 AM Monday morning January 8 for Springfield. I
will be gone indefinitely, until this is all over and her affairs are taken
care of, working with my brother there. So it may b
Can someone look for two Gotschall marriages for me?
Oleva Elizabeth Gotschall to Jonah R. Cotterill -- about 1917.
Catherine A. Gotschall to Edward Rickey -- this one would have been between
the late 1890s to 1918.
Thanks so much for any help. You all have a great day.

In an earlier email I introduced the Ireland conundrum, meaning that some
people who were listed in census records as being from Ireland may have
been from Ireland, Ohio. Maybe it was confusion. Maybe it was cutsie. I

My personal interest is with a family in Morgan County, named KEEVER.
I do know that my great great great grandmother was Ann SMITH and she married
William KEEVER in Morgan County Ohio. But her census record says she was born

Paula, the local library here in Lake Zurich, Il, is willing to work
with me on getting various micro films, as well as copies of articles,
all I had to do was ask the referance desk for help. They seem to like
a good chalange. You might want to stop in and ask them if they can
arrange for the loan of the films you want.

Today I found this site while working on one of my lines. It is a great site
if any of your ancestors were here around the 1600s.
1600s Ancestor's Data Base
http://business.gorge.net/aff/
This is a data base with over 18,000 names of first American families of the
thirteen colonies. It lists names, dates, location, and the person who
submitted the information.
Have Fun!
