I have been trying to find where they came from in Maryland. William, oldest son was born there and other three sons born in Ohio. I cannot find where the parents, John and Mary Butts were born. They married in Frederick County 25 Jul 1821. If anyone knows anything about them I would appreciate any information. William Orr married Hannah Walker 7

You will find many of the birth & death records before 1908 in the Probate Court Files. Beginning with 1908, the brith & death record keeping was the responsibility of the health departments in each county. Doctors were responsible for filing a death claim or birth record and many times, he would files these records later. Prior to 1867, in Ohio, you will little records of a birth or death. Ohio started in 1867 of maintaining these records. Which is much better than a lot of the states. This migh

14. [OHAUG] Ziegenbusch family [1]
Hello, I have just joined the Auglaize County, and I am glad to see that it is active. I am currently gathering information on the Ziegenbusch family who arrived in Auglaize County in the mid 1800s. I am particularly interested in this family as the name no longer exists in Germany, and all the US Ziegenbusches seem to come from the same Ohio lineage. The information I have so far is here : http://www.chez.com/graff/gen1.html Any additional information would be appreciated. Regards, William M. Graff

Mike, The problem is there are too many John Orr's in Maryland or DC to figure out which is the right one. I would love to find a birth record for William that would list some information.
