This is a long shot, but would someone be able to check the cemetery
books that you are talking about for a Marie Christine Knapheide
NUESMEYER b Sept. 1, 1833 d March 1, 1870 m. June 18, 1850 to Heinrich
Adolph Nuesmeyer. We have found the cemetery where Heinrich is buried
but not Marie. Unsure if just the marker is gone or if she is in a
different cemetery. Heinrich is in Pilger-Rugh (sp) near New Knoxville
on Bremen-Knoxville Rd. Thank you for any help. Jinny
I have William H. SHAW and his son Alexander SHAW in my file because
William's daughter, Harriet Jane married James Allen BURDEN, who is in my
line. Also William's granddaughter, Emma SHAW married into my line.
I am willing to share what I have. For what are you searching?

Martha,
You will probably have to contact the township trustees. Try contacting
the Auglaize Co. Commissioners' office to find out who they are. That office
has email at auglaizeco@bright.net,
either Pat or Connie can help you out as to who the trustees are for the
township.
I hope this helps.

Have you checked with the cemetery office yet? They usually have
records of where people are buried regardless of markers. They may
have rules about what kind of marker you can put on a grave,
particularly based on the size of the plot. On a couple of occasions
I've had help locating unmarked graves... even being walked directly
to the site. They may be particularly interested in helping if they
sell markers and think you might be purchasing from them.

Couldn't find anything on Ross Co site. URL defaults to Ross Co. index.
Ross Co. may have pulled info.
I did look at familydiscovery.com web site and they advertise a "one time special
expires soon" $49.95 access fee (normally $79.95).
This does seem strange as it implies lifetime access or as long as the web site
exists.
Caveat emptor or if it sounds to good to be true it usually is!

I am needing some serious help on researching the KISER family of Auglaize
Co. Jacob KISER m. Mary LAYMAN 1 Dec 1824 in Shelby Co. Mary Layman KISER
was b. abt. 1804 in Shelby Co. and d. 7 June 1866 in Auglaize Co. I know
nothing of her husband, Jacob. Only two daughters are known to me: Susan
Francis KISER and Charlotte KISER. Charlotte KISER m. Henson RICE in 1852 in
Auglaize Co.
If anyone has any other information that can help me fill in the huge
blanks, I would be most grateful.

I was happy to discover that there is a research group devoted to Auglaize
County, Ohio. I am doing research of the Ziegenbusch family, from which I
am descended on my mother's side of the family. If anyone else is currently
studying the history of this family, I would be grateful to hear from them.
I am working on a web site devoted to the family's history, and I am putting
up new information every day. Please feel free to visit it at :
http://www.chez.com/graff/ziegenbusch.html
I received this from another list. Please pass it on to other Genealogists.
The Family Discovery website is charging users a $49.95 fee to access links
and information that other sites have published for free.
You can find out more about this RIP-OFF by visiting:

Does any one know about the John Corder who was an Early Pioneer in
Auglaize County? I hit a brick wall when I found the John Corder family
from Tazewell County, OH in the 1850 Census for Auglaize County, OH. There
were Elias, James and John households. The witness for my ancestor's
marriage (Reuben Corder and Matilda Shockey) was Sam Corder. Elias'
son Samuel was too young. Apparently there was another Sam Corder in OH
around 1840.
The earliest evidence I have on Reuben Corder is his marriage bond in

Thanks so very much. It's very interesting about the Koop cemetery and fact
that Joseph Caterlin owned the property in 1827. I thought he would probably
be buried with his wife Sarah but apparently not. I would assume that Koop
Cemetery was once known as Caterlin family cemetery.
Joseph Caterlin was still alive in 1853 when he gave affidavit in support of
Mary (Brecount) Hinkle's application for a land warrant for Capt. Asa
Hinkle's service in War of 1812. Joseph and Sarah were married in Virginia

I am trying to find out if the Shaws came to Auglaize from Virginia or did
they live in other parts of Ohio first. Was Emma the daughter of
Alexander? Do you know anything of William H.'s wife Elizabeth or
Alexander's wife Mary Crider.
Thank you for your response.

Hello Michael,
Thanks for your e-mail. Yes, please send me whatever information you have
on Ms. Ziegenbusch. I recently discovered that there were, in fact, two
Ziegenbusch families that settled in Auglaize county in about 1850. The
first generation of children from both these families had many children and
some of the names overlap, making things a bit difficult to sort out.
If you know anyone in your family who might have photos from that period,
that would also be a great addition to the site.
