SMITH (unknown) POLLY WAITS (from Brown County) Parents of: JOHN SMITH (born 1860 Wabash IN) I found their names from Johns death certificate. I also found where a marriage license was issued to them in Brown County in 1856. I assume they were married, it just says a license was issued. I can't find Lorenzo and Polly anywhere. I have found lots of Lorenzos but none with a wife named Polly

Family legends say that he was born in France abt 1808 and that the Huguenot family emigrated to Quebec in the early 1800's. Later he supposedly spent some time in the textile mills of Maine before migrating to WV. Yet in the 1840-1860 WV censuses George states that he was born in Ohio? We are trying to find information on CHARLES O'CONNOR. We believe he came from Ireland, possible through Virginia in the very late 1700s. His son, also CHARLES O'CONNOR was born 1802. died 1886. He married LEVINA STEWART on 13 August 1840 (b 1822, d 1896). I wrote down the address standing in front of the church. It was on the mailbox. Maybe it is not located in Ripley or maybe Ebeneezer Road is a Rural route number.
