Hello everyone. I am new to this list and new to researching in Brown Co.
My 2nd gr. grandfather, Wm. Perrin, was living in Green Twp. in 1850.
According to family tradition, he died in 1857. I am trying to find his burial place.
Have the Brown Co. cemeteries been copied? If so, can anyone check for Wm.
Perrin for me?
Also, I may be able to get down that way this summer. Where is the best
place to go to do research? Are the records still at the courthouse? Does the
library have a genealogy
I am looking for information on a WAYSON family that I found in the 1870
census. They were living in Perry Township.
Head of Household was SAMUEL WAYSON. There was a boy, Mc Clelland, age 8.
Thank you,
Lynn Koehler
Greetings Listers:
Would someone with an index to the 1850 Brown County census be kind enough to provide me with a lookup for an Eliza S. Evans, exact location within the county unknown. Eliza's father may possibly be John Evans, but I have no record to substantiate this. Eliza would be approx. 19 years of age at the time of this census, and she would appear to have been born in Virginia.
As always, I am very appreciative of any assistance.
Warm Regards,
M.E. Mathews

In answer to your questions, yes the court house has death & birth records
from 1867 to 1909, after that you will find birth & death records at the
Health Dept. Also, the Brown Co. Geneology Society, catty cornered from the
court house is open at noon to five PM on Thursday and Saturday only. They
also have a listing of all of the grave yards in the county, and you might
find you person there.

The address for the Brown Co. Genealogy Society is:
P.O. Box 83
Georgetown, Ohio 45121
I do not think they have a telephone. They do have cemetery publications
along with other census, etc. publications.
Hope this helps.
