Strangely enough, I just sent a request for a census lookup today in Warren
County for a Deardorff. I think Warren and Champaign county border each other.
David Deardorff married into my Johnson/Johnston line marrying Margaret
Johnson in Warren Co. OH in 1827. He is listed in the census in Warren Co. in
1840 and 1860 under that spelling.
Does this ring a bell with you or anyone?
By the way, I see another spelling variation for you. Springboro Cem, Clear
Creek Twp. Warren Co, Raymond P. and Sarah M. Deard
Is there an "Old Grafton Cemetery" in Champaign County, other than the
National Cemetery?
I understand that an ancestor of mine, Charles Dorsey (died 1811) is
buried in Old Grafton Cemetery. I found an index on the Internet listed
two Dorseys in the National Cemetery, but not Charles.
Can anyone tell me about this "old Grafton Cemetery" about which was
said "is buried in the old Grafton cemetery which is located on the
Troy-Urbana pike about five miles south of St. Paris, Ohio. "
Thanks in advance.
Rich
Rich,
Thanks for the additional spelling. They just seem to go on and
on!
I do not have your David Deardorff in my database, but then I have
very few Deardorffs. Will let you know if I run across him, though.
Thanks again for your response.
Annie

GRANDMA AND THE FAMILY TREE:
There's been a change in Grandma; we've noticed her of late,
She's always reading history or jotting down some date.
She's tracking back the family; we'll all have pedigrees.
Oh, Grandma's got a hobby; she's climbing Family Trees.
Poor Grandpa does the cooking now, or so he states,
That worst of all, he has to wash the cups and dinner plates.
Grandma can't be bothered; she's busy as a bee

I would like to find someone willing to do an 1860 census lookup for
this family of Tabor's. I would like to know who the household
members were and where they were born, as well as their ages.
According to Ancestry.com
1860 Federal Census
Urbana, Champaign Co, Ohio
page 272, ID# OH44776135
Tabor, John C
John C Tabor was reported to be county Sheriff on multiple occasions.

Hello, all --
I've joined this list to attempt to discover some additional
information about my 2g grandmother, Artemesia (or Artemisia) Dearduff (or
Deardorff) who married Jeremiah Elliot (or Elliott) on January 31, 1843 in
Champaign Co., OH. For years, I've looked for her as a DEARDORFF, but
today saw a photocopy of a bible page that gives her parents as Daniel and
Jane DEARDUFF. A search on www.familysearch.com told me that Artemesia
and Jeremiah were married in Champaign Co., OH. Thus, I looked thi
