In my experience in cemeteries, FLT is something like Friendship, Love
and Trust. It, with the three chain links is usually the emblem of the
IOOF, the Odd Fellows. If there is a big R and a dove, it is usually the
ladies group, the Rebekah lodge. Certainly, others would know better
than I if they are members of either. Please, someone supplement my
knowledge. Thanks.
Cynthia

Hi, I was wondering if anybody knew the whereabouts of the old Sturgis
funeral home records. I am looking for a funeral recor for one of my

Our local newspaper has an article about a show of
postmortem photography being held at the Trumbull Art
Gallery in Warren Ohio (Trumbull Co.) through Feb. 19.
Though it may seem morbid today taking photos of the dead
was a common practice in the 1800s.
According to the article the photos are from the collection
of Steve Degenaro of Poland, Ohio. For information on the
exhibit it gives this number to call: (330) 395-4876.

Hello all,
Does anyone know what states permitted underage marriages without parents permission? This would be about 1930. My grandmother was married about the age 15-16 years old. She moved to Texas with her new hubby. She was divorced 7 years later and married my grandfather in Columbiana County. We don't know much about this first marriage. I would love to find out were she was married and divorced. Also where in Texas did she live.
Thanks,
Diana

I don't know if this is appropriate for the list or not, but I've
just subscribed and thought I'd send out a bit of info... perhaps
relatives are subscribed who will recognize names and get in touch....
I have been working on my family tree for about 10 years, off and on.
Part of my research was done prior to having the Internet available.
After getting married and beginning my own family, I have picked it
up again and I'm finding the computer and the Internet have certainly
facilitated my research!

Hi All. Now I will let in alittle timeline on these: Paul Cain, originally
born in Hookstown, PA, (1902)but raised his family In Columbiana County.
Same story with Aaron Coleman, but he's from Raccoon Twp, Beaver county,
PA,(1850's) & son, Clair was born(1903) & raised here, in Columbine County,
youngest of 9 children, mostly boys. James & father, Wm. H. Plummer were
born elsewhere, but ended up in east Liverpool, perhaps because of the
flourishing pottery industry in the 1800's, I figure.

Columbiana County, OH. I am looking for the names of the children of E.L

census there in 1910. Also, possibly Harry or Perry Parsons and his wife Anna
or Annie. Any information on thier children and where they li

Hi, Bill!
I believe that stands for "Faith, Love and Truth" and it indicates that she
was in the Rebekahs, the female part of the IOOF (Independent Order of
Oddfellows).
