Barb,
I'm not sure of the wineries in Coshocton but I can attest to the ones
in Holmes and Tuscarawas counties. I'm no wine connoisseur but we buy
wine in Amish country all the time and it is every bit as good as some
of the California wines. If you've ever been north around Sandusky, be
sure to also check out the wineries in Catawba and Marblehead. Those
grapes were descendants of the vines brought to the area by the Catawba
indians around 1750 from North Carolina and Virginia. The later

Hi all
I sent in a similar query a year ago April with no results and so am
expanding on it. I will be in the area for my high school reunion
(Zanesville) the end of July beginning of August and hope to get in a bit
of genealogy.
I will entertain any suggestions on where to look for these folks. Do the
death certificates give any other info? I got the dates of death from the
book put out by CCCOGS. Are there early directories they might be in?

IMPORTANT info for genealogists -- cost of Ohio birth & death certificates may go from $1 to $17. Your immediate action is necessary if we are to have any chance of stopping this increase. Email Governor Taft to stop the 1700% price increase for birth & death certificates.
If Governor Taft signs the bill, then you should immediately contact your state senators and representatives and ask that they sponsor legislation to roll back the price increase and reinstate uncertified copies at reduced cost.

Regarding this obituary.. It says that his wife is Minnie Mae Snedeker,
then later it says a sister was Minnie Mae Daugherty --mix up

on the Snedeker line. I didn't know she had died. I also met her sister or
I think it was her sister and the name escapes me.

Ohio birth & death records in most counties start in 1867 through Dec. 1908
and are located in Probate Court. since Dec. 1908 the state and local health
depts have the records. The pre 1908 are one line across two pages of a
large ledger. Do not contain info on cemetery and not always parents
especially on death records...depending on clerk or info
provided...rememeber most everyone knew everyone else in the area during
that time frame.
The library in Coshocton is the place to go for research. Some of the

Could someone look up the marriage of William Harvey Daugherty and Minnie
Mae Snedeker for me?
