Hi List - am looking for info on my g-g-father James Emory HOUSE born in
that area in May 1842 & died Oct. 1924. He married Barbara S. SHRYOCK
(descendent of the CORNELIUS family of Guernsey County) in May 1866 & had
3 children: Edward F. HOUSE; Belle D. HOUSE (married Thomas RUBY); Lucina
(Cina) HOUSE (married Allen CONGER). Barbara passed away July 1872. James
married Frances V. OGAN May 1873 in Guernsey, County & had 8 children:

William, A
Tony, have you tried to look for this family in the census?
You didn't say where you were located, but Ohio records (birth & death)
start in 1867 and are located in Probate Court, courthouse in the county in
which the event took place (hopefully) until 1908. After 1908 the records
are either in the County Health Dept. or State Vital Statistics.
Marriages were listed from the beginning of the settlement of the Northwest
territory in 1789 to the present, in Probate Court also.
Hope some of this helps.

Bob, welcome to the list!
Have you checked the Coshocton Co. Library for obits? Several of the
cemeteries in different townships have been "read" and published. These
books may be available at your local Genealogy Library or ordered on
inter-library loan.
Good hunting!

Does anyone have access to the 1840 U.S. Census for Coshocton, Coshocton
Co., OH?
Need info on John Crowley on page 279 and Samuel Burns on page 278. Any
information appreciated.

If anyone is able to go through microfilm, etc. of old newspapers, am
looking for information on the murder of Edward Emig of Vine St. in
Coshocton in May 1975 committed by Robert Lemon HOUSE & his brother Wayne
HOUSE. I have a copy of a news clipping about Robert's murder in his jail
cell found 9 Sept 1977. I'm trying to determine if the two HOUSE brothers
are relatives of my g-father HOUSE's family.
Thank you so much in advance for any help! I really deeply appreciate it!
Thanks,
Wendy
