Will they be updated as just after I printed out the "Frequently asked
questions for research" Ohio dept. of Health went up on their price from
three cents to five cents? Thanks for that excellent information on birth
records and etc.
I have much on the Adam Lehr family.

Does anyone know if the newspapers in 1946 had more complete obituaries than
the brief ones that are listed in the Cleveland library index?
I need more info on Florence Emma RHOADS HEILIG who died on November 7,
1946 in Rochester, N.Y . She was buried in unknown cemetery in
Cleveland---Buesch & Sons Funeral Home. Do the funeral homes keep records,
and how is the best way to contact them?
Thank you.

Hi list,
Can anyone help me to figure out a way to preserve an old phone book. The pages are brown and starting to crumble.
Where would I find acid free products. Should I wrap the book. Where would I get those gloves that someone said that librarians make you use?
Should it be put in acid free paper or just loose in an acid free box?
Thanks
Jean in CA
Just thinking about the photo idea on manuscript collections. It is
doubtful that it would be allowed. A scanner is not allowed. They pass
out white gloves, and are very particular about manuscripts.

Just a thought, have these fragile documents been put
on microfilm? If not maybe the LDS church would
probably do it. They have went all over the world and
are still copying documents. You might go to their
website to see if its already been done. You can order
the microfilm to use locally for a nominal fee. June

Yes, don't buy it. My husband got one and it had some small amount of
history on someone I already had, then just a list of all the Lubbers in the

I've been trying for a couple days to get onto the CNF site but it says it's down for maintenance (or something). I was able to get into it as recently as Monday. Anyone know if they're updating or maintaining?

Try the probate court online at: www.cuyahoga.oh.us/probate/Probatehome.htm
Instead of accessing the Historical Marriage Index, use Search Docket and
Index. Search for both spellings. If the name change was "official" you
may find it. I found one in the 1980's. I don't know if the online docket
index goes back as far as the marriage index does, but hopefully it will go
back to the 1920's.
One thought however, from Zelesko to Zell may not have been an "official"
name change. Many Eastern Europeans "A
