Yes there was - it was called the Ohio/Michigan War. The only casualty
was a cow at what is currently know as Seward. "Old State Line Road" or
Fulton County Road K was the former state line. Ohio got the contested
area, which included Toledo.Ohio & Michigan got the Upper Peninsula.

Greetings List Members:
Let me toss this out and see if those long-term researchers on the list
might have ideas:
If I understand this correctly, Defiance county was formed in 1845 from
portions of Henry, Paulding and Williams counties. Henry and Defiance
counties seem to be tightly connected, which I would assume (yikes!)
would stem from the fact that Williams provided most of 1845 Defiance
county. My question, though, pertains more to Williams county, and
whether anyone would know what portions/to

I know that she later (Sept. 1, 1891) married an Ethan K. Burnett in Henry County. He died after the 1920 Census, but before the 1930 Census while they were living i

Micheal Mathews:
You are correct that there were very few white people even in the northwestern portion of Ohio at that time, and none then in what is today's Williams Co. And there were even fewer white women. Many of the single men even married Indian women, because there were so many more white men than women.
