Sligo, Ireland in 1826 approximately, emigrated through Canada in 1839 as a crewmember on a ship to Quebec. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I don't know if you have gotten an answer, I just recently got my computer and saw your query. I have family records from the First Reformed Church back to 1852. I was able to obtain copies there at the church. This was back about three/four years ago. Don't know if they still do. I was quite lucky to get these, because it was the first written proof of family dates and marriages for me. My 3rd Great grandfather came to Sandusky in 1851. The records are in German. Good luck!

Looking for a Information on the Gibson family in Erie. William Gibson died around 3/24/1861 at the age of 33 and is buried in the Erie Cemetary, along with members of the "Else" family. The cemetary plot was given or sold to the Else family by an E. Gibson. Many of the Else family men have Gibson as a middle name. There may have been a Hannah Gibson born in 1794, who married an Else. She died in 3/17/1873. Would appreciate any info on this!
Charlie,
There is a book you should find, "The History of Erie County, Ohio," published in 1889. It has an index. The book contains personal stories from residents (one pertaining to my own family) from 1833, possibly even before. Perhaps your own family can found too.
The Clark County, Ohio library has a copy. I suspect that the libraries in Erie County will as well. Coincidentially, my gr, gr, gr, grandfather was a blacksmith in both Sandusky and Massilon during the 1850s. Regards,
CF
