Dear Jean, I don't know where Madison Twp. is, but I had much the same problem. Then I discovered that my TILTON, WOOD and ELLIS families lived right in the corner of Madison, Franklin and Union counties. Therefore, some of their land extended into two counties (Franklin and Madison) (Union and Franklin) and so I have found pieces of information from all three counties. This may not be the same in your case, but it is worth thinking about! Elva

I am trying to find information on a Eliahu Commandor Tipton my Great Grandfather on my mothers side. All I know is that my mother was born Feb. 03 1928 in Franklin Co. Oh. My mother died in 1973. Sharon I definately recommend Ancestry.com. It has helped me in many ways. I always seem to go back for the same information and find more added as well. They are constantly updating and adding new information. You might want to try a short time period for joining, at first...in case you don't like it. But I bet you find
