My gggrandfather was Warren Thomas, who listed Wauseon, Ohio as his home
town in 1861 when he joined the Civil War. I find a young Warren Thomas
living with Gad and Ann Thomas in the 1850 Census.
After the Civil War, Warren marries Celina Lott, daughter of John Lott and
Hulda Armina Newton. Hulda was the daughter of Newell Newton and Abigail
Sprague. The Newtons and John Lott's parents, Peter and wife, are mentioned
in the Mikesell "History of Fulton County, Ohio" book as some of the
original settler

I am in the process of adding the personal history section of the Fulton
County Historical Atlas that was initially published in
1875. It has short biographies for those who I assume were the patrons of
the project. There will eventually be histories of early pioneers of each
Fulton County Township as the work is in progress. The new section Index
can accessed at the URL above.

Has anyone used Fulton County Historical Atlas 1875 Personal Histories as proof of linage for the SAR or DAR and it was accepted? This is the only proof that we have as a last ditch effort for my husband to become a SAR member. If so, please communicate with me as we need to reference that applicant. The application has passed regional but a newly appointed reviewer at the state level rejected it. In the appeal we need to show that this Atlas has been previously used and accepted.

Lori, Would love to help but you give no dates other than the 1926 post card. You must have a clue as to what time period he live in? Was he a brother to you maternal or paternal side and dates on this grandparent? Do you think the family lived in Fayette, Fulton Co., OH for their entire life?
Would love to help but need a few more clues.
