That is what I have my family tree on plus my father-in-laws and a couple other trees I am working. I can put it around my neck and have it with me where I go. It is great and I have one that is the larger size. I got it on sale at Radio Shack, you don't want a small gigabyte because you can't hold much information. Yes , Marilyn, I did. I was looking on the FTM at the date of Alva Fred's death when I wrote it down. My mistake, sorry. I will get those wills scanned and sent to you in the next couple of days. 7. Re: [OHGALLIA-L] Searching Marriage 1910- 1912 [1]
Barbara, I checked the Marriage Records 1901-1925 of Gallia Co., Ohio.. He is not listed in the time frame you gave. Have you checked with the Cabell County Court House in Huntington, West Virgina. Since he was there in 1910, perhaps he married there before moving to Middletown. Which Middletown, Ohio are you looking at? There are 3 of them. One in Butler Co, one in Crawford Co., and one in Champaign Co. I assume you mean the one in Butler Co., close to Cincinnati, Ohio. I will be in Huntington i

Marjorie, Thanks for the info. My Lewis was married to Nancy Sheets and according to the "Cemeteries of Guyan TWP....." booklet, they are both buried in the Garlic Cemetery. Wonder if Lewis's parents (WIlliam and Elizabeth) could be buried there too. I noted your surname and was wondering if you are a descendant of James Timothy Halley and his wife Margaret Jane (Wood) Halley who were married in Gallia Co. in 1852. I am a descendant through their son Lewis P. Halley - and am also trying to
9. RE: [OHGALLIA-L] Lanthorn, John and David [1]
Hi Marian, Thanks for the Lanthorn information. I had that information on John. Several other researchers have additional children for John and Cassandra Lanthorn that showed up after the 1880 census. I'm not sure where they got that information. I have corresponded with one of these guys, and after the initial contact, I have not heard from him. I must have thrown him by asking about his sources... Is cousin Linda the same as Linda Yeakle? I have corresponded with her before. I believe that Elizab

Transcribed by Joyce Robinson Athens Messenger August 5, 1875 GALLIA The colored Brass Band, of Gallipolis, are complimented for their extra style of playing. Cheryl and list, Well, if you need help and can't find what you need, come out and we will go through all these papers and maybe find your connection. (Remember though, I'm moving my office into another room so things are a mess again) My mother-in-law proved several people for my father-in-law the first year of First Families and if anyone would be interested in any of the Wood, Fee, McCarley, Glassburn and any other connecting family that has been proven I will be glad to help you make your connection f

I have just begun to research my family in Gallia County but have come across an "ANGEL" connection. Cheryl, Thanks for replying. I have copies of the 1874 plot maps, and maybe that's where some of the confusion starts for me. There are multiple numbers in many of the sections. Jacob Loucks section is labeled as "5", but if following the traditional numbering system, it looks as though he would be in number "10", with the section at the bottom right of Harrison township [directly below Jacob Loucks section] clearly labeled as "7". Also, the land description for the transfer from John Gilmore to Math

I looks like Gallia County has done a great job in identifying and documenting Gallia County cemeteries. Over 500. Wow. But, are we saying that establishing and enforcing laws to protect graveyard peripherys is impracticable if not impossible? More specifically, what can be done to get rid of the auto junk yard bounding Ewington Cemetery in Huntington Township? It looks like the cemetery and the junk yard are in somebody's backyard. Does that mean they own the cemetery (and its inhavitants) and can d
