4. Montville Cemetery [1]
My map of Geauga County shows Montville Cemetery to be on Highway 528, which is also noted to be named Madison Road in Geauga County. Lake County has a number of monikers for it, starting from the southern edge of the county line and moving north, it starts out as Chardon Road, changes to Madison Road, it then becomes River Street, Lake Street, Genung Street, and finally Hubbard Road S. and N. as it approaches Lake Erie. Highway 528 being the easiest point of reference, the cemetery is north of U.S. 6 on

While cost for the records isn't revealed, here's where you need to ask: The US GenWeb/OHGenWeb site for Geauga County at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohgeauga/geauga.html says there are these two ways of retrieving records, depending on just when the event occurre

12. Cemeteries Found [1]
Cemeteries Found Thanks to all who offered their help in finding these two cemeteries. Both were found and the hunt was fun. Old Settlement Cemetery ------------------------ This first one is located on the south side of U.S. 322, east of Highway 306. That intersection is better known as Chesterland, formerly Chester, Ohio. The cemetery is situated between Sperry Road and Kenyon Drive. It is quaint and in a state of disrepair, as is the case with so many old graveyards. The stones left standing are d

14. The State Road [1]
06.05.2000 Hello! Please get on the thinking caps! I've finally found what MAY be my gggrandfather's farm, but it has a description rather than an address. It is said to be a farm on the State Road, two miles south of the corners. State Road runs right through the Falls, but where are the corners? John Morey owned this farm in 1817. The farm was then owned by a Charles Crocker, c. 1857. Anybody got any ideas? If not, who or where do I go to get this information? Thanks in Advance, and happy hunt

17. Re: Pioneer and General History book [1]
Judy, Family Tree Maker has a CD that includes both histories of Geauga County. It also has a search feature and many histories for many other Ohio counties. I have it and I'm very pleased with it. It is well worth the current asking price but it goes on sale every so often if you are willing to wait for a bargain. 20. Re: Record retrieval [1]
If anyone wants records of any kind from Geauga Co., but doesn't live near there, I urge you to find a nearby Family History Center and order the recods on microfilm. Geauga Co. probably has the best assortment of records on film of any county I've researched. Sandy McSpadden.
21. Manning Ware 1818 [1]
I am posting my family research interest for the first time on this list. I am researching my gggrandfather Manning Ware. Manning was born on April 09, 1818 in I believe Bolton, New York. He married Mary Jane Maynard on January 03, 1839 in Sudbury, Rutland Vermont. Manning and Mary had the following children: Martha Ware (my ggrandmother)1849-1917 Susan Ware Dallas Ware Cordelia Ware Willie Ware All these children were born in Vermont. The Ware family moved to Ohio between 1858 and 1860. Some to Lor
22. Cemeteries [1]
Would appreciate help finding two cemeteries. Can anyone tell me the address of or provide me with driving directions to the Old Settlement Cemetery of Chester (now Chesterland) in Geauga County? I'm also trying to RElocate a very, very old cemetery in adjoining Lake County (used to be part of Geauga County), near the current county line. It's called Sperry Family or Sperry Farm Cemetery. I think it's more recent name is Brown Township or Brown's Corners Cemetery? This is maintained by the township it's

25. Ambrose Potter [1]
Ambrose Potter is mentioned in Pioneer & General History of Geauga, but more in passing than as the subject. The book is available with and without an index and I think that an index is available as a separate volume, as well. This excerpt is taken from GenealogyLibrary.com. Hope It helps: ********** Page 539 In 1838, they moved to the first house west of the square. Here, for some years, meetings were held. The Scriptures were searched, and a "Thus saith the Lord," became the ready "sword of the Spirit
