The Great Lakes Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists is
sponsoring an Advanced Genealogy Discussion Group. The next meeting is on
Saturday, May 20, 2006.
The purpose of the group is to discuss advanced genealogical methodology as
presented in case studies that have appeared in various scholarly
genealogical publications.

I am looking for information on a Lemuel Purdy, I found him on the 1820 & 1830 census in Parkman, Geauga Co., Ohio. My ancestor is Winfield Scott Purdy, born 1832, in Ohio. I found him living next to two other Purdy's on the 1870 census, One is a Lemuel Purdy [I think he is Lemuel Junior], and a man by the name of Pitt Lawrence Purdy b. on Jan 23, 1834 he was born in Parkman, Geauga Co., Ohio. Are there any records for the early eighteen hundreds, if so how can I find them? There is also another women named
NEOCAG (NorthEast Ohio Computer-Aided Genealogy Society) will be
having a panel of published members at the meeting on Saturday, who will
discuss "Getting the Family History to the Family." Make all that work
count. There are many ways, some very simple, to get your genealogy
organized into great media to share. See some good examples of ways to
present your work, either for family or the public.
We also have breakout sessions for different topics, novice
users, and genealogy program use
Cynthia Turk, our speaker for Thursday is heading to New England for the
flood relief, and her topic of "Medical Potpourri" will be rescheduled,
possibly after the hurricane season.
Instead we will be having a film of a great program done by Dr. George K.
Schweitzer. The topic is "Migration Routes & Settlement Patterns
1607-1890. Dr. Schweitzer is a history professor and has spoken at many
of the big genealogy conferences.

Sorry for cross posting, but this message is for those
researching in Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake Lorain, Medina, Summit
and Trumbull Counties.
There is a new links page at the NEOCAG site (NorthEast Ohio
Computer-Aided Genealogy Society, Inc.) for the above counties. Cuyahoga
is most extensive, but the other counties have a lot of good links. It
is sort of a "favorites" list for genealogists in the area. Hope it is
